<span>The relation between number of half-lives and the amount of sample that remained is expressed as: (1/2)^n = x So, given is 7. To find x, we will change the equation with 7: (1/2)^n = x (1/2)^7 = x 0.5^7 = x 0.0078125 = x 0.0078125 x 100% = x x = 0.78125 Therefore, 0.78 % of a radioactive species would be created as daughter material after seven half-lives.</span>

The bonds of four salts (MgBr2, NaCl, MgCl2, and NaBr) are evaluated for ionic character based on electronegativity differences
sammy [17]

Answer:

MgBr2 < MgCl2 < NaBr < NaCl

Explanation:

In order to determinate ionic character, we have to subtract the electronegativity from the elements involved. This is known as Pauling rule.

MgBr2 > ΔΕΝ = 1.8

NaCl > ΔΕΝ = 2.3

MgCl2 > ΔΕΝ = 2

NaBr > ΔΕΝ = 2.1

How much heat does it take to increase the temperature of 2.70 mol of an ideal gas by 30.0 K near room temperature if the gas is
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

1683.6J

Explanation:

Given:

n= no. Of mol= 2.70 mol

T= Temperature= 30.0 K

Q= n Cv × ∆T .........eqn(1)

Where CV= molar heat capacity=5/2R for diatomic particle ,such as H2

CV= molar heat capacity=3/2R for diatomic, such as H

R= gas constant= 8.314 J/mol.K

Q= heat energy

For a diatomic molecules

Q= n Cv × T

But

Cv= molar heat capacity=5/2R = 5/2(8.314)=20.785

CV= 20.785

. ∆T= Temperature= 30.0 K

Then substitute the values into the eqn(1)

Q= 2.70 × 5/2(8.314) × 30

Q= 2.70 × 20.785 × 30

=1683.6J

Kazeer [188]

Answer:

Half life = 79.67 sec

Explanation:

Given that:

k = 8.7\times 10^{-3}\ s^{-1}

The expression for half life is shown below as:-

t_{1/2}=\frac{\ln2}{k}

Where, k is rate constant

So,

t_{1/2}=\frac{\ln2}{8.7\times 10^{-3}\ s^{-1}}

t_{1/2}=114.94252\ln \left(2\right)\ sec=79.67\ sec

Half life = 79.67 sec
