Answer:

The most common position for an double bond in an unsaturated fatty acid is delta 9 (Δ⁹)

Explanation:

Unsaturated fatty acids are carboxylic acids which contains one or more double bonds. The chain length as well as the number of double bonds is written separated by a colon. The positions of the double bonds are specified starting from the carboxyl carbon, numbered as 1, by superscript numbers following a delta (Δ). For example, an 18-carbon fatty acid containing a single double bond between carbon number 9 and 10 is written as 18:1(Δ⁹).

In most monounsaturated fatty acids, the double bond is between C-9 and C-10 (Δ⁹), and the other double bonds of polyunsaturated fatty acids are generally Δ¹² and Δ¹⁵. This positioning is due to the nature of the biosynthesis of fatty acids. In the mammalian hepatocytes, double bonds are introduced easily into fatty acids at the Δ⁹ position, but cannot introduce additional double bonds between C-10 and the methyl-terminal end. However, plants are able to introduce these additional double bonds at the Δ¹² and Δ¹⁵ positions.

A reversible reaction is a reaction that takes place in the____1____ . If the reaction were to_____2____, the rate of the forwar
klemol [59]

Answer : The correct option for blank 1 is, Forward and Backward direction .

The correct option for blank 2 is, Reach equilibrium .

Explanation :

 • Reversible reaction : It is a reaction in which two or more reactants react together to give products and these products react with other product to form reactants.

It occurs in both the directions at the same time, forward and backward direction.

 • Irreversible reaction : It is a reaction in which reactants react together to give a product but it can not revert back into the reactants.

It occurs in forward direction only.

 • Equilibrium reaction : It is a reaction in which the rate of forward reaction is equal to the rate of backward reaction.
 • Completion reaction : It is a reaction in which the reactants react together to give products. when the reaction goes to completion theta means all the reactants are used up and you have only products in the reaction.

What is the mass of 8.2 * 10^11 molecules of this compound
Goryan [66]

Answer:

It depends what the compound is.

Explanation:

You need to use Avogadro's number (6.22*10^23) to convert the number of molecules of a compound to moles of the compound. From there, you can use the molar mass of the compound (grams per mole) to get the mass. You can get the molar mass by googling "molar mass of [compound]" or calculate it yourself using the periodic table.

So: 8.2*10^11 molecules of the compound * (1 mole of the compound/6.022*10^23 molecules of the compound) * (# of grams/1 mole of the compound)

According to the 2010 u.s. census, ______ percent of women had college degrees compared to approximately _____ percent of men.
Misha Larkins [42]

According to the 2010 U.S. Census, 37 percent of women had college degrees compared to approximately 35 percent of men.

In 1970 and early 1980, women have surpassed men in number of bachelor's degree or master's degree in united state.

The women gets more degree to gain financial benefits. The gap in earning is greater in female graduate and non- graduate as compare to male graduate and non-graduate. To give education to girls saves lives and builds stronger families, communication and economic too.

What Type of Reaction is the following: lithium carbonate → lithium oxide + carbon dioxide
valentinak56 [21]

Answer: 2. Decomposition

Explanation:

Synthesis reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which two reactants combine to give a single product.

Decomposition reaction is defined as the reaction where a single substance breaks down into two or more simpler substances.

lithium carbonate → lithium oxide + carbon dioxide

LiCO_3\rightarrow LiO+CO_2

Single replacement reaction is a type of chemical reaction in which more reactive element displaces the less reactive element from its salt solution.

A double replacement reaction is one in which exchange of ions take place.

How many grams are in 9.05 x 1023 atoms of silicon?
Sergeu [11.5K]

Explanation:

Number of moles(n)=Number of atoms(N)/Avogadro's constant.

Avogadro's constant=6.02×10²³

so we have

n=9.05×10²³/6.02×10²³

n=1.0503moles.

n=mass/molar mass

1.0503=mass/28

mass=1.0503×28

mass=29.4084g
