The process of the earth crust being squeezed together is an example of plate tectonics and physical activity.

The crust being squeezed and being pushed upward, sounds like a convergent margin where the land collides together. It forms a ridge either on the ocean floor or a mountain on the land.

So, in short some areas of the earth , the crust is squeezed and pushed upward. this is a constructive process in that it directly forms Mountains.

A 2.50 g sample of zinc is heated, then placed in a calorimeter containing 65.0 g of water. Temperature of water increases from
USPshnik [31]

Answer:

719.83°C

Explanation:

The heat that the sample of Zinc gives is equal to the heat that water is absorbing. That is:

C(Zn) * m(Zn) * ΔT(Zn) = C(H2O) * m(H2O) * ΔT(H2O)

Where:

C is specific heat (Zn: 0.390J/g°C; H2O: 4.184J/g°C)

m is mass (Zn: 2.50g; H2O: 65.0g)

ΔT (Zn: ?; H2O: (22.5°C - 20.0°C = 2.50°C)

Replacing:

0.390J/g°C * 2.50g * ΔT(Zn) = 4.184J/g°C * 65.0g * 2.50

ΔT(Zn) = 697.33°C

As final temperature of Zn is 22.50°C, initial temperature is:

Initial temperature: 697.33°C + 22.50°C

719.83°C

Consider an experimental setup with two compartments separated by a phospholipid bilayer membrane containing ion channels select
Schach [20]

This question is incomplete, the complete question is;

Consider an experimental setup with two compartments separated by a phospholipid bilayer membrane containing ion channels selectively permeable only to chloride ions. The left compartment (also called inside) contains 1 mM Cl- and the right compartment (also called outside) contains 100 mM Cl-. What will the electrical potential be when the system attains equilibrium? [ assume body temperature; log 100 = 2, log 10 = 1, log 1 = 0, log 0.1 = -1, log 0.01 = -2]

Options;

a) -62 mV

b) -124 mV

c) +62 mV

d) 0 mV

e) +124 mV

Answer:

the electrical potential be when the system attains equilibrium is –124mV

Option b) –124mV is the correct answer

Explanation:

Given the data in the question;

Two compartments are divided by lipid bilayer;

In inside compartment Cl- ion concentration- 1mM and out side of the cell concentration is 100mM

now we apply the Nernst equilibrium potential equation;

Chlorine ion valency is z = –1

So

E_{eq} = 62/z × log(ion outside/ ion inside) [for Cl‐ ions]

E_{eq} = (62 / –1) x log( 100 / 1 )

E_{eq} = -62 x 2 =

E_{eq} = –124mV

Therefore, the electrical potential be when the system attains equilibrium is –124mV

Option b) –124mV is the correct answer

Dehydration of 2-methyl-2-pentanol forms one major and one minor organic product. Draw the structures of the two organic product
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

The major product is 2-methyl-2-pentene [ CH₃-CH₂-CH=C(CH₃)₂ ] and a minor product 2-methyl-1-pentene [ CH₃-CH₂-CH₂-C(CH₃)=CH₂ ].

Explanation:

Dehydration reaction is a reaction in which a molecule loses a water molecule in the presence of a dehydrating agent like sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄).

Dehydration reaction of 2-methyl-2-pentanol gives a major product 2-methyl-2-pentene and a minor product 2-methyl-1-pentene.

CH₃-CH₂-CH₂-C(CH₃)₂-OH (2-methyl-2-pentanol)→ CH₃-CH₂-CH=C(CH₃)₂ (2-methyl-2-pentene, major) + CH₃-CH₂-CH₂-C(CH₃)=CH₂ (2-methyl-1-pentene, minor)

Since more substituted alkene is more stable than the less substituted alkene. So, the trisubstituted alkene, 2-methyl-2-pentene is more stable than the disubstituted alkene, 2-methyl-1-pentene.

Therefore, the trisubstituted alkene, 2-methyl-2-pentene is the major product and the disubstituted alkene, 2-methyl-1-pentene is the minor product.
