In a redox reaction, when one molecule or atom becomes reduced, the other becomes oxidized. In order to reduce this atom, which means it gains an electron, causing its atomic radius to become smaller, the other atom would have to become oxidized, meaning it lost an electron, and the atomic radius increases.

You know that energy cannot be created or destroyed, so what happens to it?
riadik2000 [5.3K]
Mass cannot be created nor destroyed as well.

So, energy just goes into other things.

Example: you are born. You have carbon dioxide in your body, (or star dust). When you die, your body releases that gas.

Make sense?

I hope this helps! (:

1840 times lesser than

Explanation:

Robert A. Milikan from his experiment found that electrons carry exactly one unit of negative charge and that its mass is 1840 times lesser than the mass of a common hydrogen atom.

  • Robert Milikan performed the oil drop experiment and was able to determine the charge on an electron.
  • From Milikan's experiment, the relative mass of an electron was discovered to be about 1840 times lesser than the mass of a hydrogen atom.
  • A normal hydrogen atom is a proton with an actual mass of 1.67 x 10⁻²⁷kg.
  • Electrons weight 9.11 x 10⁻³¹kg which is 1840 less than the weight of a proton.

1.00L of a gas at STP is compressed to 473 ml. What is the new pressure of the gas?
I am Lyosha [343]
P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

Convert 473ml > LP = \frac{(1ATM)(1.00L)}{(0.473L)}

(1atm)(1.00L) = (0.473L)P₂

Divide by (0.473L)

P = \frac{(1atm)(1.00L)}{(0.473L)}

Solve for 2.11atm
