____ [38]

Answer:

m_{Mg}=30.8mgMg

Explanation:

Hello,

Based on the given chemical reaction, as 31.2 mL of hydrogen are yielded, one computes its moles via the ideal gas equation under the stated conditions as shown below:

n_{H_2}=\frac{PV}{RT}=\frac{754torr*\frac{1atm}{760torr}*0.0312L}{0.082 \frac{atm*L}{mol*K}*298.15K}=1.27x10^{-3}molH_2

Now, since the relationship between hydrogen and magnesium is 1 to 1, one computes its milligrams by following the shown below proportional factor development:

m_{Mg}=1.27x10^{-3}molH_2*\frac{1molMg}{1molH_2}*\frac{24.305gMg}{1molMg}*\frac{1000mgMg}{1gMg}\\m_{Mg}=30.8mgMg

Best regards.

Question 2: you have two systems: 1) solid gold and water 2) solid sodium and waterWhich one can spontaneously release energy an
Valentin [98]

Hey there!

Solid Sodium and water will react spontaneously and release energy.  This is based on the reactivity series. Sodium is a highly reactive metal and hence, it is placed at the top of the reactivity series. This is because it loses its outermost electron very readily. When it comes in contact with water, it reacts with it violently to form sodium hydroxide and hydrogen gas. This reaction is exothermic and hence, accompanied with a release of energy.  Gold lies at the bottom of the reactivity series as it is very stable and does not give away its outermost electrons easily. Therefore, when it comes in contact with water, there is no reaction and no release of energy.

Hardness of metals can be decreased by: (a) adding interstitial alloying elements (b) making glassy metals through extremely hig
n200080 [17]

Answer:

Option c is correct

Explanation:

The interstitial alloy elements occupy the free spaces in the metal structure and improve the symmetry of the crystalline network, for this reason this type of elements increases the hardness of the metal.

Vitreous metals are called that because they are formed by high cooling rates and form amorphous structures such as glass, such structures contain packaging of atoms of different sizes, which decreases the free spaces in the metal structure and this increases their hardness.

In option d, the work at low temperatures causes the vibrations of the atoms to decrease and compact, this makes many metals brittle but in general increases their hardness.

Option c is correct because in annealing the metal is heated to the austenization temperature, that is, the temperature at which a structural change occurs, which destroys its crystalline network and then slowly cools to maintain this structure change and by causing this disorder, the spaces between the atoms increase and the hardness of the metal decreases.

Options are: <br> 1. Kelvin<br> 2. Grams<br> 3. Degrees Celcius<br> 4. Degrees Fahrenheit
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

1. Kelvin

Explanation:

The standard temperature for scientific report is the kelvin.

According to the SI unit definition, temperatures should reported in Kelvin.

  • On the kelvin scale, the freezing point of water is 273k
  • The melting point of water is 373k
  • The kelvin is widely accepted in scientific climes.
  • It is possible to convert from this scale to another.
