-Plant cells have cell walls to keep the cell rigid, but animal cells don't

-Plant cells have a large permanent vacuole, but animal cells don't. Animal cells will either have a small vacuole or none at all.

-Plant cells have chloroplasts, which contain chlorophyll, so photosynthesis can take place. Animal cells don't need to photosynthesise and therefore do not need chloroplasts.

-Animal cells contain flagella, but in plant cells flagella is only found in gametes(sex cells)

How many potassium atoms are in 250.0 grams of potassium?
loris [4]

Hi!

The correct option would be 3.85x10^(24)

To find the number of atoms in 250g of potassium, we need to first calculate the number of atoms in

1 mole of Potassium = 39g which contains 6.022x10^(23) atoms of K

(Avogadro's constant value for the amount of molecules/atoms in one mole of any substance)

Solution

So as 39g of Potassium contains 6.022x10^(23) K atoms

1g of Potassium would contain 6.022x10^(23) / 39 = 1.544 x10^(22) atoms

So 250g of Potassium would contain 1.544x10^(22) x 250 = 3.86x10^(24) atoms

How many joules of energy do you have if you have 0.45 L of water in a can and you heat the 23C water to 55C site:socratic.org
Bess [88]

Answer:

Q = 60192 j

Explanation:

Given data:

Volume of water = 0.45 L

Initial temperature = 23°C

Final temperature = 55°C

Amount of heat absorbed = ?

Solution:

Formula:

Q = m.c. ΔT

Q = amount of heat absorbed or released

m = mass of given substance

c = specific heat capacity of substance

ΔT = change in temperature

ΔT =  55°C - 23°C

ΔT = 32°C

one L = 1000 g

0.45 × 1000 = 450 g

Specific heat capacity of water is 4.18 j/g°C

Q = m.c. ΔT

Q = 450 g.  4.18 j/g°C.  32°C

Q = 60192 j

The maximum amount of nickel(II) cyanide that will dissolve in a 0.220 M nickel(II) nitrate solution is...?
sweet [91]

Answer : The maximum amount of nickel(II) cyanide is 5.84\times 10^{-12}M

Explanation :

The solubility equilibrium reaction will be:

                       Ni(CN)_2\rightleftharpoons Ni^{2+}+2CN^-

Initial conc.                        0.220       0

At eqm.                             (0.220+s)   2s

The expression for solubility constant for this reaction will be,

K_{sp}=[Ni^{2+}][CN^-]^2

Now put all the given values in this expression, we get:

3.0\times 10^{-23}=(0.220+s)\times (2s)^2

s=5.84\times 10^{-12}M

Therefore, the maximum amount of nickel(II) cyanide is 5.84\times 10^{-12}M
