The answer is the vehicle. At the precise moment of the impact in a collision, there is the release of energy when a vehicle strikes another vehicle or another object. Earlier to an impact, a vehicle and everything inside the vehicle is traveling at whatever speed the vehicle had been going. As the collision continues, the vehicle slowly loses energy. However, the vehicle occupants and any others items in the vehicle continue to move forward at the same speed as the vehicle had been traveling prior to impact.

In order for gravitational potential energy to be stored, there must be _____.
trasher [3.6K]

Answer: 1

an object positioned at some height in a gravitational field

Explanation:

Gravitational potential energy of an object is the energy stored due to position of the object or position at certain height relative to zero position.

Gravitational potential energy can also be expressed as object position at some height above or below zero position in a gravitational field

A small rubber ball is launched by a compressed-air cannon from ground level with an initial speed of 17.3 m/s directly upward.
elena-s [515]

Answer:

h=15.27m

Explanation:

Since at maximum height the vertical velocity must be null it's better to use the formula:

v_f^2=v_i^2+2ad

We will use this formula for the vertical direction, choosing the upward direction as the positive one, so we have:

0=v_i^2+2ah

or

h=-\frac{v_i^2}{2a}

which for our values is:

h=-\frac{(17.3m/s)^2}{2(-9.8m/s^2)}=15.27m
