Answer: 0.5m/s²

Explanation:

Given that,

acceleration of bike (a) = ?

Mass of bike (m) = 20kg bike

(Note that the displacement of the bike is in the northerly direction)

constant unbalanced force (f) = 10 N

According to Newton's second law of motion, the acceleration of the bike will be directly proportional to force acting on it but inversely proportional to the mass of the bike.

Hence, Force α mass x acceleration

f = ma

Make a the subject formula

a = f / m

Now find the acceleration of the bike

a = 10N / 20kg

a = 0.5m/s²

Thus, the acceleration of the bike pedaled in the northerly direction is 0.5m/s²

True or False? The superposition or overlapping of two waves always results in destructive interference between the different wa
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

Explanation:

False

When two waves overlap or superimpose over each other then they either undergo Constructive or destructive interference.

waves are the disturbance created by a force and add up to gives constructive interference when they are in the same line i.e. in the same phase.

When these disturbances are in the opposite phase then they superimpose to give destructive interference where the amplitude of the resulting wave will be much smaller as compared to original waves.

Alex787 [66]

Answer: Mr. Whitmore would need 7 or more students ( 7.17) to make the box start moving and go outside

Explanation:

Given that;

friction force of ground box = 68 N

student of 7th grade = n

Whitmore can apply a force of 25 N

every other 7th grade student can apply a force of 6 N.

now

friction force = forced applied by whitmore + total force ny 7th grade student

we substitute

68 = 25 + 6n

6n = 68 - 25

6n = 43

n = 43/6

n = 7.17

Therefore Mr. Whitmore would need 7 or more students ( 7.17) to make the box start moving and go outside
