Answer: 0.5m/s²

Explanation:

Given that,

acceleration of bike (a) = ?

Mass of bike (m) = 20kg bike

(Note that the displacement of the bike is in the northerly direction)

constant unbalanced force (f) = 10 N

According to Newton's second law of motion, the acceleration of the bike will be directly proportional to force acting on it but inversely proportional to the mass of the bike.

Hence, Force α mass x acceleration

f = ma

Make a the subject formula

a = f / m

Now find the acceleration of the bike

a = 10N / 20kg

a = 0.5m/s²

Thus, the acceleration of the bike pedaled in the northerly direction is 0.5m/s²

An AC adapter for a telephone answering machine uses a transformer to reduce the line voltage of 120 V to a voltage of 5.00 V. T
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer:

35

Explanation:

We are given that

Initial voltage,V_1=120 V

Final voltage, V_2=5 V

Number of tuns in primary coil of the transformer, N_p=840

Rms current, I_{rms}=580mA=580\times 10^{-3} A

1 mA=10^{-3} A

We have to find the number of turns  are there on the secondary coil.

We know that

\frac{N_s}{N_p}=\frac{V_2}{V_1}

Using the formula

\frac{N_s}{840}=\frac{5}{120}

N_s=\frac{5}{120}\times 840=35

Hence, there are  number of turns on the secondary coil=35

Answer:

61.85 ohm

Explanation:

L = 12 m H = 12 x 10^-3 H, C = 15 x 10^-6 F, Vrms = 110 V, R = 45 ohm

Let ω0 be the resonant frequency.

\omega _{0}=\frac{1}{\sqrt{LC}}

\omega _{0}=\frac{1}{\sqrt{12\times 10^{-3}\times 15\times 10^{-6}}}

ω0 = 2357 rad/s

ω = 2 x 2357 = 4714 rad/s

XL = ω L = 4714 x 12 x 10^-3 = 56.57 ohm

Xc = 1 / ω C = 1 / (4714 x 15 x 10^-6) = 14.14 ohm

Impedance, Z = \sqrt{R^{2}+\left ( XL - Xc \right )^{2}}

Z = \sqrt{45^{2}+\left ( 56.57-14.14 )^{2}} = 61.85 ohm

Thus, the impedance at double the resonant frequency is 61.85 ohm.

What does the word apparent mean in apparent visual magnitude
SSSSS [86.1K]

The word 'apparent' mean in apparent visual magnitude is, how bright the star appears when viewed from Earth.

What is visual magnitude?

The brightness of a celestial body is determined by eye estimation with or without optical aid or by other instrumentation equivalent to the eye in spectral sensitivity.

Apparent magnitude:

  • Apparent magnitude is a measure of how bright the star appears when viewed from Earth.
  • It is a measure of the brightness of a star or other astronomical object observed from Earth.
  • An object's apparent magnitude depends on its intrinsic luminosity and its distance from Earth.

Hence,

The word 'apparent' mean in apparent visual magnitude is, how bright the star appears when viewed from Earth.
