Use the inverse button on your calculator in degree mode for this.  Inverse sin of .5 gives you an x value of 30 (30 degree angle, that is).  Now find the cos(30) and round.  cos(30) = .866

Edgar has 7 gallons of gas ⛽️ remaining in his car after driving for 30 miles he had 4 gallons left in the tank how many gallons
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

2 gallons left after driving 50 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Edgar has 7 gallons of gas remaining in his car after driving for 30 miles he had 4 gallons left in the tank

Initially he has 7 gallons of gas

after 30 miles 4 gallons left

Let m be the number of miles and g be the gallons left

(0,7)  (30,4)

find slope using formula \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1} =\frac{4-7}{30-0} =\frac{-1}{10}

y intercept b= 7

so equation becomes

g=mx+b\\g=\frac{-1}{10} x+7

now find out g when m= 50 miles

g=\frac{-1}{10} x+7\\ g=\frac{-1}{10}(50)+7=2

so 2 gallons left after driving 50 miles
