calculate the mass of butane needed to produce 64.1 g of carbon dioxide to three significant figures and appropriate units
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

21.2 gm

Explanation:

calculate the mass of butane needed to produce 64.1 g of carbon dioxide to three significant figures and appropriate units

butane is the hydrocarbon C4H10

in combustion, we react hydrocarbons with O2 to form CO2 and H2O

so

C4H10 + O2----------------> CO2 + H2O

BALANCE

2C4H10 + 1302--------> 8CO2 + 10 H2O

the molar mass of CO2 is 12 + 16X2 = 44

64.1 gm of CO2 is

64.1/44 = 1.46 MOLES OF CO2,

FOR EVERY 8 MOLES OF CO2 WE NEED 2 MOLES OF BUTANE IT IS A

8:2 OR 4:1 RATIO. THE MOLES OF C4H10 ARE 1/4 THE MOLES OF CO2

SO

THE MOLES OF C4H10 H10 ARE 1.46/4 =0.365 MOLES

THE MOLAR MASS OF BUTANE IS 58.12

0.365 MOLES OF C4H10 HAS A MASS OF 0.365 X 58.12 = 21.2 gm

Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

 1. Compress
 2. Fixed
 3. Melts
 4. Melting Point
 5. Freezing Point
 6. High
 7. Crystalline
 8. Lattice
 9. Unit cell
 10. Amorphous solids

Explanation:

Solids tend to be dense and difficult to compress.

They do not flow or take the shape of their containers, like liquids do, because the particles in solids vibrate around fixed points.

When a solid is heated until its particles vibrate so rapidly that they are no longer held in fixed positions, the solid melts.

Melting point is the temperature at which a solid changes to a liquid. The melting and freezing point of a substance are at the same temperature.

In general, ionic solids tend to have relatively high melting points, while molecular solids tend to have relatively low melting points.

Most solids are crystalline

The particles are arranged in a pattern known as a crystal lattice

The smallest subunit of a crystal lattice is the unit cell

Some solids lack an ordered internal structure and are called amorphous solids.

Predict the fact is all great white sharks were removed from an aquatic ecosystems. Write a short radio ad explaining why shark
attashe74 [19]
Sharks need to be protect, if they weren’t the ecosystem would not do good. If the sharks weren’t there to eat the fish and other food then the fish population would grow. If the fish population grow then the seaweed and algae population would go down because the fish would eat it all. That is why sharks need to be protected.
