In this question there are information's of immense importance and that can go a long way in helping to solve the given question. It is given that one brother eats 3/5 of the cereal and the other brother eats 3/10 of the cereal. The answer that needs to be found is that the amount of cereal the other brother eats more.
The amount of cereal eaten more by the other brother = (3/5) - (3/10)
                                                                                       = ( 6 - 3)/ 10
                                                                                       = 3/10
So the other brother does not eat more, but the first brother has eaten 3/10 more than the other brother.

Well 3/5 is equal to 6/10
then you would subtract 6/10-3/10=3/10

Y=2x+5 and y=3x+2 using substitution strategy
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

Hi there the answer will be (3,11)

Since you are using the substitution way, you first plug in one of the y's into the other equation and you can see that they are set equal to each other.

2x+5=3x+2

Then you subtract 2x on both sides to get the x's on the same side

and you get 5=x+2

Then you subtract 2 on both sides, and you get x to equal to 3

then you plug x into any equation to get y to equal 11

y= 2(3)+5
