Actually to determine which metals will react with water
to form hydroxide, we have to refer to the reactivity series. In this case, our
baseline would be Hydrogen ion since it is the one being displaced by the metal
in the water compound (H+ OH-) to form metal hydroxide. From the series, all
metals are above hydrogen, hence all will react.
