Since the formula for kinetic energy is:

Ek = (m*V^2) / 2 where m is mass and V is speed, then we can take this equation and manipulate it a little to isolate the speed.

Ek = mv^2 / 2 — multiply both sides by 2
2Ek = mv^2 — divide both sides by m
2Ek / m = V^2 — switch sides
V^2 = 2Ek / m — plug in values
V^2 = 2*30J / 34kg
V^2 = 60J/34kg
V^2 = 1.76 m/s — sqrt of both sides
V = sqrt(1.76)
V = 1.32m/s (roughly)

A rotating paddle wheel is inserted in a closed pot of water. The stirring action of the paddle wheel heats the water. During th
fgiga [73]

Answer:

the final energy of the system is 35.5 kJ.

Explanation:

Given;

initial energy of the system, E₁ = 10 kJ

heat transferred to the system, q₁ 30 kJ

Heat lost to the surrounding, q₂ = 5kJ

heat gained by the system, Q = q₁ - q₂ = 30 kJ - 5kJ = 25 kJ

work done on the system, W = 500 J = 0.5 kJ

Apply first law of thermodynamic,

ΔU = Q + W

where;

ΔU is change in internal energy

Q is the heat gained by the system

W is work done on the system

ΔU = 25kJ + 0.5 kJ

ΔU = 25.5 kJ

The final energy of the system is calculated as;

E₂ = E₁ + ΔU

E₂ = 10 kJ + 25.5 kJ

E₂ =  35.5 kJ.

Therefore, the final energy of the system is 35.5 kJ.

To tugboats pull a disabled supertanker. Each tug exerts a constant force of 1.50•10^6 N, one at an angle 19.0° west of north, a
irina1246 [14]

Answer:

Work done by a tug boat, W = 1.735 x 10⁸ J

Explanation:

Given,

The of each tugboat, F = 1.5 x 10⁶ N

The angle of each tugboat forms with the resultant force, θ = 19°

The displacement of the supertanker, s = 710 m

The individual tugboat will be responsible for the displacement, d = 710/2

                                                                                                               = 355 m

The displacement component in each tugboat direction = 355 · sin θ meter

Therefore, the work done by each tugboat is

                                           W = F x S    joules

Substituting the values in the above equation

                                            W = 1.5 x 10⁶  x  355 · sin θ

                                                = 1.735 x 10⁸ J

Hence, the work done by each tugboat is, W = 1.735 x 10⁸ J

The energy of a given wave in the electromagnetic spectrum is 2.64 × 10-21 joules, and the value of Planck’s constant is 6.6 × 1
bixtya [17]
We are given
E = 2.64 × 10-21 J
h = 6.6 × 10-34 J s

The options given below are frequencies, therefore, the question must be asking about the frequency fo the given wave

The equation is
E = h f
Simply substitute and solve for f which is the frequency
f = 2.64 × 10-21 J / 6.6 × 10-34 J s
f = 4.00 × 1012 hertz
