Answer:

- 14.5 rad/s^2

Explanation:

n = 19

θ = 2 x 3.14 x 19 = 119.32 rad

t = 3 s, ω = 18 rad /s , ω0 = ?,

Let α be the angular acceleration.

Use First equation of motion for rotational motion

ω = ω0 + α t

18 = ω0 + α x 3

ω0 = 18 - 3α .....(1)

Use second equation of motion for rotational motion

θ = ω0 t + 1/2 x α x t^2

Put the value of ω0 = 18 - 3α from equation (1)

119.32 = (18 - 3α) x 3 + 1/2 x α x 9

119.32 - 54 = - 4.5 α

α = - 14.5 rad/s^2

A body of mass 400 g is moving along a smooth surface at a velocity of 10 m s–1 east. It strikes a body of mass 650 g, initially
9966 [12]

Answer: v = 2.53 m/s at E 53.1° S

Explanation:

Conservation of momentum

The 400 g object has no North-South velocity, so the initial momentum in that direction is zero. The total momentum after collision must also be zero

0 = 400(8sin35) + 650vy

vy = -2.82376... m/s

In the East direction

400(10) = 400(8cos35) + 650vx

vx = 2.121097...m/s

v = √(2.12² + 2.82²) = 3.531667... ≈ 2.53 m/s

θ = arctan(vy/vx) = arctan(-2.82/2.12) = -53.087... ≈ E53.1°S

In 1960, the US Navy sent the submersible Trieste to the bottom of the Marianas Trench 11,000m deep. What was the force on the s
natita [175]

Answer:

P = d g h         pressure = density * g * depth

P = 1000 kg/m^3 * 9.8 m / s^2 * 1.1 * 10E4 m = 1.1 * 10E8 N/m^2

F = P * A = 1.1 * 10E8 N/m^2 * pi * .075^2 / m^2 = 1.9 * 10E6 N/m^2
