ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

c) heuristic.

Explanation:

When asked to indicate whether San Diego or San Antonio has more inhabitants, more German university students answered correctly than did American university students. This best illustrated the adaptive value of a heuristic.

Heuristic is any method of learning or self discovery that is applied in achieving immediate or short-term goal. Heuristics can be mental shortcuts that ease the cognitive load of making a decision.

Why were newspapers careful not to offend royal officials
cluponka [151]
Newspapers were careful not to offend royal officials because these officials wielded a lot of power. These were officials who were either royal themselves or worked closely/directly with members of the royal family. They then had a lot of power and influence and could greatly affect the business of the newspapers. For example, a nasty article about a royal official could lead to the shutting down of the newspaper or its printing press. They could arbitrarily wield their power, money, and influence to knock down those who disgrace or humiliate them. This is especially true if any of the newspapers print any false or inaccurate materials.

How did many europeans react to the outbreal of war in august 1914
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
At the beginning of the great war, many people were actually enthusiastic about the war (and at least supported it), which was fuelled by nationalism ( and the desire to prove themselves better than other nations) and perhaps hopes for territory gain; at the time it was not known that the Great War would come with such a great loss of life.
