d is 0.301 T. Each has a speed of 7.92 × 10^5 m/s, but one ion is singly charged and the other is doubly charged. Find the radius of the circular path followed by the singly charged ion in the field. Answer in units of cm. (b) Find the radius of the circular path followed by the doubly charged ion in the field. (c) Find the distance of separation when they have moved through one-half of their circular path and strike a piece of photographic paper.

Answer:

Part a)

R_1 = 0.072 m

Part b)

R_2 = 0.036 m

Part c)

d = 0.072 m

Explanation:

Part a)

As we know that the radius of the charge particle in constant magnetic field is given by

R = \frac{mv}{qB}

now for single ionized we have

R_1 = \frac{(4.39\times 10^{-27})(7.92 \times 10^5)}{(1.6 \times 10^{-19})(0.301)}

R_1 = 0.072 m

Part b)

Similarly for doubly ionized ion we will have the same equation

R = \frac{mv}{qB}

R_2 = \frac{(4.39\times 10^{-27})(7.92 \times 10^5)}{(3.2 \times 10^{-19})(0.301)}

R_2 = 0.036 m

Part c)

The distance between the two particles are half of the loop will be given as

d = 2(R_1 - R_2)

d = 2(0.072 - 0.036)

d = 0.072 m

A reconnaissance plane flies 560 km away from its base at 602 m/s, then flies back to its base at 903 m/s.
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

Approximately 722\; \rm m\cdot s^{-1}.

Explanation:

The average speed of a vehicle is calculated as:

\displaystyle \text{average speed} = \frac{\text{total distance}}{\text{total time}}.

In this question, the total distance is 2 \times 560\; \rm km = 1120\; \rm km.

The unit of the speeds in this question is meters per second, while the unit of distance is kilometers. Convert the unit of distance to meters:

560 \; \rm km = 560 \times 10^{3} \; \rm m = 5.6 \times 10^{5}\; \rm m.

1120 \; \rm km = 1120 \times 10^{3} \; \rm m = 1.12 \times 10^{6}\; \rm m.

Time required for the first part of this trip:

\displaystyle \frac{5.60 \times 10^{5}\; \rm m}{602\; \rm m\cdot s^{-1}} \approx 930\; \rm s.

Time required for the second part of this trip:

\displaystyle \frac{5.60 \times 10^{5}\; \rm m}{903\; \rm m\cdot s^{-1}} \approx 620\; \rm s.

The time required for the entire trip would be approximately 930 + 620 = 1550\; \rm s.

Calculate the average speed of this plane:

\begin{aligned} \text{average speed} &= \frac{\text{total distance}}{\text{total time}} \\ &\approx \frac{1.12\times 10^{6}\; \rm m}{1550\; \rm s} \approx 722\; \rm m \cdot s^{-1}\end{aligned}.

Gina is driving her car to work, but she’s stopped at a red light. When the light turns green, she presses the gas pedal and acc
Vlad [161]

Since car is initially at rest so at that position the net force on car in vertical as well as horizontal both direction is zero

but after lights are green the car will speed up in horizontal direction

so now we can say that

It will accelerate in horizontal direction

So now as per Newton's formula we have

F = ma

so now the force in horizontal direction will become nonzero while in vertical direction car is still in equilibrium

So now we can say

F_x = ma

F_y = 0

so the correct answer will be

C. The net force on the car is greater than zero in the horizontal direction.

A conveyor belt is used to send burgers through a grill- ing machine. If the grilling machine is 1.2m long and the burgers requi
puteri [66]

Answer:

Rate = 1.71 burger/min

Explanation:

Length of the conveyor belt is given as

L = 1.2 m

time taken to cook one burger is given as

t = 2.8 min = 168 s

now we can find the speed of the belt as

v = \frac{distance}{speed}

v = \frac{1.2}{168}

v = 7.14 \times 10^{-3} m/s

Now we know that the distance between two burgers is given as 25 cm

d = 0.25 m/burger

now the production rate of burgers is given as

Rate = \frac{v}{d}

Rate = \frac{7.14 \times 10^{-3} m/s}{0.25 m/burger}

Rate = 0.0286\frac{burger}{sec}

Rate = 0.0286\times 60\frac{burger}{min}

Rate = 1.71 burger/min
