Rachel's unit rate is : 2.80

Kevin's is: 3.20

( you simply divide the dollar amount by the rolls of tape-- 33.60÷ 12)

Therefore, Kevin's is greater than Rachel's.

Rachel paid $33.60 for 12 rolls.

Unit rate paid by Rachel =

= 2.8

From table,

Kevin paid $6.40 for 2 rolls.

Unit rate paid by Kevin =

= 3.20.

Check:

Kevin bought 5 rolls for $16

5 × 3.2 = 16

He also bought 8 rolls for $25.6.

8 × 3.2 = 25.6.

If we compare the unit rates paid by Rachel and Kevin,

Rachel's unit rate is less than Kevin's because 3.2 is greater than 2.8.

NISA [10]

Answer:

foreign stamps = 299

US stamps = 353

Step-by-step explanation:

Let number of foreign stamps be x.

Given she has 54 more U.S stamps than foreign , US stamps = x +54

Total stamps = US + Foreign

652 = x + 54 + x

652 - 54 = 2x

598 = 2x

x = 299

Ali spends 30% monthly income on food articles, 40% of the remaining on conveyance and clothes and saves 50% of the remaining. I
Romashka [77]

Ali saves Rs 2576 every month

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Step 1: Given Ali's monthly salary = Rs 18400. Calculate the amount spent on food articles

Amount spent on food = 30% of 18400 = 30/100 × 18400 = Rs 5520

  • Step 2: Find the remaining amount.

Remaining amount = 18400 - 5520 = Rs 12880

  • Step 3: Find amount spend on conveyance and clothes

Amount spent on conveyance and clothes = 40% of 12880

                              = 40/100 × 12880 = Rs 5152

  • Step 4: Find his monthly savings.

Monthly savings = 50% of 5152 = 50/100 × 5152 = Rs 2576
