Hi!

The line that the 36 degree angle rests on is a straight angle, meaning that it measures 180 degrees. This straight angle is split up into two separate angles. Since we already know one of the angle measures we can do some simple subtraction to get the angle measurement for angle b.

180-36=144

So angle b measures 144 degrees.

Hope this helps :)

6x^2 + 9x = 0 :) please help !!
blagie [28]

Solution for 6x^2+9x=0 equation:

Simplifying

6x2 + 9x = 0

Reorder the terms:

9x + 6x2 = 0

Solving

9x + 6x2 = 0

Solving for variable 'x'.

Factor out the Greatest Common Factor (GCF), '3x'.

3x(3 + 2x) = 0

Ignore the factor 3.

Subproblem 1

Set the factor 'x' equal to zero and attempt to solve:

Simplifying

x = 0

Solving

x = 0

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Simplifying

x = 0

Subproblem 2

Set the factor '(3 + 2x)' equal to zero and attempt to solve:

Simplifying

3 + 2x = 0

Solving

3 + 2x = 0

Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right.

Add '-3' to each side of the equation.

3 + -3 + 2x = 0 + -3

Combine like terms: 3 + -3 = 0

0 + 2x = 0 + -3

2x = 0 + -3

Combine like terms: 0 + -3 = -3

2x = -3

Divide each side by '2'.

x = -1.5

Simplifying

x = -1.5

Solution

x = {0, -1.5}

A circle's diameter has endpoints at
Arisa [49]

Part (a)

We'll use the distance formula.

(x_1,y_1) = (-4,-7) \text{ and } (x_2, y_2) = (5,-2)\\\\d = \sqrt{(x_1 - x_2)^2 + (y_1 - y_2)^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{(-4-5)^2 + (-7-(-2))^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{(-4-5)^2 + (-7+2)^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{(-9)^2 + (-5)^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{81 + 25}\\\\d = \sqrt{106}\\\\d \approx 10.2956\\\\

The diameter is exactly \sqrt{106} units long which approximates to roughly 10.2956 units. Round that decimal value however your teacher instructs.

========================================================

Part (b)

We divide the diameter in half to get the radius.

Therefore, the radius is exactly \frac{\sqrt{106}}{2} units long which is approximately 5.1478 units.
