The processes that experience energy loss included the following: FREEZING, CONDENSATION AND DEPOSITION.
Energy loss occurs in these processes because the kinetic energy of the particles decreases as a result of the change in state that they undergo. For instance, for the process of freezing, a substance has to change from the liquid state to the solid state. The amount of kinetic energy that is available to the particles of the liquid is more than that of the solid, thus, the particles are losing some kinetic energy. 
The processes that experience energy gains are: SUBLIMATION, EVAPORATION AND MELTING. These processes move from a state of lower kinetic energy to that of higher kinetic energy.
