Irrational numbers are numbers that can be written as decimals but not as fractions. ... Pi is an irrational number because it cannot be expressed as a ratio (fraction) of two integers: it has no exact decimal equivalent, although 3.1415926 is good enough for many applications.

Pi is a real number because any number can be expressed in the form of (a+ib) where a is the real part and b is an imaginary part. its not a rational number because it cant be written as a fraction

Madelyn has already cycled 4 kilometers this year, plus she plans to cycle 2 kilometers during each trip to work. Write an equat
Musya8 [376]

Answer: y = 4km + 2km*x

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that Madelyn already cycled 4km this year, so we start at that point.

Now, each time that she goes to work, she cycles 2 km in total.

Now, if she does x trips to work, then she cycles 2km x times, this means that in total she would cycle 2km*x

if we also count the 4km she already has, we have the linear equation:

y = 4km + 2km*x

This is the equation we wanted to get.

20 miles an hour is a slope of 20 on the miles versus hours graph.

Graph equivalent ratios following a pattern of moving right 1 and up 2 from the original point.

There's no grid shown. Assuming the ticks are 1 each on x and y, right one up two gives a slope of 2, not 20; check that it doesn't say "up 20". If it does check it, as written don't.

Draw a line from the origin that connects all the points.

Is this one of the checkables? If so CHECK ME. The line will have a constant slope of 20 mph.

Every point on the line is an equivalent ratio.

CHECK ME. Is this different than the last one? Yes, each point on the line has a constant ratio, it's 20 miles per hour.

As the line goes up, the speed increases.

The speed is the slope of the line. As we go along a line with constant slope, the speed doesn't change. Don't check.

Alexander can pick any ratio of miles per hour on the line and he will be biking at 20 mph.

Any pair (h,m) on the line through (0,0) and (1,20) will always have m/h=20mph. He can't really pick any ratio; it's always equivalent to 20mph. But as long as he picks from this line he'll be biking at 20mph, so let's CHECK THIS.

An angle's supplement is nine times of its complementary angle. Find the measure of the angle, the complement of the angle,and t
Masja [62]

Answer:

Measure of required angle = 78.75° , measure of complementary angle = 11.25° and measure of supplementary angle = 101.25°

Step-by-step explanation:

let assume measure of required angle = x

since sum of angle and its supplement is 180°

so x + supplement of x = 180

⇒ supplement of x = 180 - x

since sum of angle and its complement is 90

so x + complement of x = 90

⇒ complement of x = 90 - x

Form given information

supplement of x = 9 × ( complement of x)

⇒180 - x = 9 × ( 90 - x )

⇒ 180 - x = 810 - 9x

⇒ -x + 9x = 810 - 180

⇒ 8x = 630

⇒ x = 630/8 = 78.75°

complement of x = 90 - x = 90 - 78.75° = 11.25°

and supplement of x = 180 - 78.75 = 101 .25°

we can recheck our solution by multiplying complement by 9 , that is 11.25 × 9 = 101.25 which is same as supplement. Hence our solution is correct.

So we can conclude that measure of required angle = 78.75° , measure of complementary angle = 11.25° and measure of supplementary angle = 101.25°

Determine how long it will take an object to rotate through 6.9 revolutions at an angular velocity of 3.1 radians per second. Us
gregori [183]

Answer: 13 . 99 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula to find how long it will take an object to rotate through 6.9 revolutions at an angular velocity is given as :

t = 2π x number of revolutions / angular velocity

Therefore :

t = 2π x 6.9 / 3.1

t = 2 x 3.142 x 6.9 / 3.1

t = 43.3596/3.1

t = 13. 98696774194

to the nearest tenth

t = 13. 99s
