Well if you had 4 ounces of vanilla and the total milkshake was 12 then 12 would become the denominator and the 4 is what part of the milkshake is so 4 is the numerator and that would make it 4/12 and then you can simplify 4/12 and it would = 2/6

Hope this helped :)

The total amount is 12 ounces therefore you can use that as your denominator.
4 ounces out of it are vanilla and the other 8 are chocolate.
4 out of 12 is vanilla . This can also be written as 4/12.
4/12 can be your first fraction.
The second one can be a simplified version of 4/12.
The simplified version would be 1/3.
Your two fractions would be 4/12 and 1/3.

Hope This Helps You!
Good Luck Studying :)

NARA [144]
We know that the 15% of missing pencils is equal to 9

we can use this formula

9/x = 15/100

Then cross multiply

15x = 900

x = 60

There were orignally 60 pencils

Find a potential function for F or determine that F is not conservative. (If F is not conservative, enter NOT CONSERVATIVE.) F =
xxMikexx [17]

For F to be conservative, we need to have

\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial x}=\cos z

\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial y}=10y

\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial z}=-x\sin z

Integrate the first PDE with respect to x:

\displaystyle\int\frac{\partial f}{\partial x}\,\mathrm dx+\int\cos z\,\mathrm dx\implies f(x,y,z)=x\cos z+g(y,z)

Differentiate with respect to y:

\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial y}=10y=\dfrac{\partial g}{\partial y}\implies g(y,z)=5y^2+h(z)

Now differentiate f with respect to z:

\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial z}=-x\sin z=-x\sin z+\dfrac{\mathrm dh}{\mathrm dz}\implies\dfrac{\mathrm dh}{\mathrm dz}=0\implies h(z)=C

So we have

f(x,y,z)=x\cos z+5y^2+C

so F is indeed conservative.

What times 4 equals 2/3
Darina [25.2K]
To find the answer, you have to do 2/3 divided 4, which equals 2/12, which is the same as 1/6. You get the answer 1/6, because 2/3 divided 4 is the same as 2/3 times 1/4, and if you do the math, you get 2/12, and you simplify it to 1/6.
