Option B:

BC = 49 feet

Solution:

Given m∠A = 130°,

AB = c =  30 feet

AC = b = 24 feet

BC = a = ?

Law of cosines:

a^{2}=b^{2}+c^{2}-2 b c \cos A

Substitute the given values in the formula.

$a^{2}=24^{2}+30^{2}-2\times 24 \times 30\times  \cos 130^\circ

$a^{2}=576+900-1440\times (-0.64)

$a^{2}=1476+921.6

$a^{2}=2397.6

Taking square root on both sides, we get

a = 48.96

a = 49 feet

BC = 49 feet

Option B is the correct answer.

jolli1 [7]

Answer:

A). Scale factor = \frac{1}{4}

B). Length of the unknown side = 2.75 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A

Since, the large rectangle was scaled by a scale factor 'k' to form the smaller rectangle,

Scale factor = \frac{\text{Side length of the image}}{\text{Side length of the preimage}}

                    = \frac{\text{Side length of the smaller rectangle}}{\text{Side length of the larger rectangle}}

                    = \frac{4}{16}

                    = \frac{1}{4}

Part B

Scale factor = \frac{\text{Side length of the smaller rectangle}}{\text{Side length of the larger rectangle}}

\frac{1}{4}=\frac{\text{Side length of the smaller rectangle}}{11}

Therefore, side length of the unknown side = \frac{11}{4} = 2.75 feet

kolezko [41]
It introduces the relationship between two variables and is called correlation. Proportionality or variation is state of relationship or correlation between two variables It has two types: direct variation or proportion which states both variables are positively correlation. It is when both the variables increase or decrease together. On the contrary, indirect variation or proportion indicates negative relationship or correlation. Elaborately, the opposite of what happens to direct variation. One increases with the other variables, you got it, decreases. This correlations are important to consider because you can determine and identify how two variables relates with one another. Notice x = y (direct), y=1/x (indirect)

What is the equation for density? D = d = m over v. D = d = v over m. D = d = m over v squared. D = d = one-half m v squared.mv2
Sophie [7]

Answer:

d = m / v.

Step-by-step explanation:

The density is a measure of the specific weight of a substance or object.

This is, the mass per unit of volume. Then, the average density is the ratio of the mass of a body to the volume it occupies in space:

The equation for density is:

\bar d=\dfrac{m}{V}

being m the total mass in the volume, and V the volume.
