Given :

Radius of copper atom , r=1.3\times 10^{-10}\ m .

Length , l = 11.1 cm = 0.0111 m .

To Find :

How many times N can you divide to reduced to a single copper atom.

Solution :

Number of time cuts required is equal to total number of atoms .

N=\dfrac{0.0111}{2\times1.3\times 10^{-10}}\\\\N=4.27\times 10^{-7}

Therefore , number of time we need to divide the rod is equal to 4.27\times 10^{-7}.

Hence , this is the required solution .

explain why ionic compounds are not electrical conductors in the solid state, but conduct electricity when dissolved.
Alik [6]

Answer:

Hi !

Here is your answer !

Ionic compounds cannot conduct electricity when solid, as their ions are held in fixed positions and cannot move.

Explanation:

Ionic compounds conduct electricity when molten (liquid) or in aqueous solution (dissolved in water), because their ions are free to move from place to place.

Thank You !

What do you think is the most important element and why? Include information
Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

Hydrogen

Explanation:

It is considered a special element due to its flexibility in giving up & taking in electrons, therefore making it good for organic & inorganic chemistry. Hydrogen has only one proton and one electron and is the only element which has no neutrons. it is considered as the simplest element in the universe and gives a valid reason for it to be the most abundant and common element in the universe.

What is the name for this molecule? a skeletal model of an 8-carbon zig zag chain. there is a double bond between the first and
yKpoI14uk [10]

The name of the compound by using the IUPAC nomenclature of organic compounds is 1 -octene. The correct option is the last option - 1-octene.

Nomenclature of Organic compounds

From the question, we are to determine the name of the given molecule.

To name the compound, we will follow the IUPAC rules.

Some of IUPAC rules are

 • Find the longest continuous carbon chain. Determine the root name for this parent chain.
 • For Alkenes (organic compounds with double bond), number the chain of carbons that includes the C=C so that the C=C has the lower position number. Change “ane” to “ene” and assign a position number to the first carbon of the C=C.

The given compound has 8 carbons and a double bond. The root name of the compound is octane.

By IUPAC rules, the compound is an Octene.

Since the double bond is between carbon-1 and carbon-2. The compound becomes 1-octene.

Hence, the name of the compound by using the IUPAC nomenclature of organic compounds is 1 -octene. The correct option is the last option - 1-octene.
