An impala is an African antelope capable of a remarkable vertical leaf. In one recorded leap, a 45 kg impala went into a deep cr

ouch, pushed straight up for 0.21 s, and reached a height of 2.5 m above the ground. To achieve this vertical leap, with what force did the impala push down on the ground? What is the ratio of this force to the antelope's weight?

The force required to push the impala down on ground is 1,500 N.The ratio of force to weight is 3.4.

Answer:

Explanation:

The mass of the impala is given as 45 kg, the height or displacement of the impala is 2.5 m and it took 0.21 s. As the impala was moved straight up, so the acceleration due to gravity will be working as acceleration but in opposite direction.

2as=v^{2}- u^{2}

As the initial velocity u is given as 0 and the final velocity we have to find

0-v^{2}=-2*9.8*2.5

49=v^{2}

So v = 7 m/s.

As the final velocity is 7 m/s and the time is 0.21 s, then acceleration is rate of change of velocity with time.

a = \frac{v}{t} =\frac{7}{0.21}=33.333 m/s^{2}

As per Newton's second law of motion, the force acting on the impala will be equal to the product of mass and acceleration of the impala

F = Mass * Acceleration = 45 * 33.333=1,500 N.

So the force required to push the impala down on ground is 1,500 N.

And the weight is measured as product of acceleration due to gravity with mass.

Weight = 45 * 9.8 = 441.

So the ratio of force to weight is 1500/441 = 3.4

Thus, the ratio of force to weight is 3.4.

A window washer drops a brush from a scaffold on a tall office building. What is the speed of the falling brush after 3.28 s? (N
valina [46]

Answer:

The speed of washer will be 32.144 m/s

Explanation:

Given that

time t= 3.28 s

Acceleration due to gravity

 g=9.8\ \frac{m}{s^2}

Here acceleration  is constant so we cam apply the motion equation

we know that

v= u + at

At initial condition  u =0 m/s

v= u + at

v= 0 + 9.8 x 3.28

v= 32.144 m/s

So the speed of washer will be 32.144 m/s

To pull a box up a rough slope,the force required will be least when it is applied :
kaheart [24]

Answer:

The correct option is;

d) Parallel to the plane

Explanation:

The forces acting on the box of mass, m are;

Weight of the box acting an angle, θ, equal to the inclination of the plane to the perpendicular of the plane

Weight of the box acting along the plane = m×g×sin(θ)

The force of friction along the plane = μ×m×g×cos(θ)

The total force acting downward along the plane F_{down}, = m×g×sin(θ) + μ×m×g×cos(θ)

The Force needed to pull the box up along the plane F = The total force acting downward along the plane

F = m×g×sin(θ) + μ×m×g×cos(θ) = m×g×(sin(θ) + μ×cos(θ))

When the force, Fₐ is applied vertically, the force acting along the plane = Fₐ×cos(θ)

When the force is applied perpendicular, the force acting along the plane = Fₐ×sin(θ)

When the force is applied horizontally, the force acting along the plane = Fₐ×cos(θ)

When the force is applied parallel to the plane, the force acting along the plane = Fₐ

Therefore, since Fₐ > Fₐ×cos(θ) and Fₐ > Fₐ×sin(θ), for acute angles, we have that the least force is required when the force is acting parallel to the plane.

Ted lifts a 10N weight at a height of 1.5 m in 1 second. Johnny lifts a 10N weight at a height of 1.5 m in 2 second. Which state
fenix001 [56]

Answer:

he affirmations the correct ones are: A and D

Explanation:

To find out which expressions are correct, let's calculate the work and power done by each person

the expression for work is W = F and

the expression for power is P = W / t

In this case the work is positive because the beast is in the same direction of displacement.

Ted

        W₁ = 10 1.5

        W₁ = 15 J

        P₁ = 15/1

        P₁ = 15 w

Johnny

the job

         W₂ = 10 1.5

         W₂ = 15 J

the potential

          P₂ = 15/2

          P₂ = 7.5 w

therefore we see that the work of both is the same, but Ted developed twice as much power as Johnny

when resisting the affirmations the correct ones are: A and D

Is this a scientific model? Use complete sentences to explain why or why not.
grin007 [14]

Answer:

A scientific model is an activity that is aimed at making a specific part or feature easier to understand and define.

Modeling is an essential scientific discipline and is used in the fields of education. Modeling seems to represent empirical objects, phenomena in a logical and objective way.

The oval-shaped world map showing vegetation in green color is a 2D model of the entire earth and demarcates us the world vegetation distribution and growth.

Hence this is a scientific model as its helps in visualizing the land surface of the earth on paper.

Explanation:

Yes because a scientific models doesn't have to be complex, just like this one
