Two boats are anchored in the harbor, separated my a horizontal distance of 14m. The boats boo up and down as waves enter the ha

Given:

Horizontal distance between two boats = x = 14 m

One boat is at trough, the other is at crest.

As there is no crests between them meaning the boat are next to each other.

Wavelength is the distance between two consecutive crests/troughs = w

The distance between a crest and a trough next to it = w/2

Complete cycles = c = 5

Time taken for c cycles = t = 15 s

Vertical distance between two boats = y = 2.4 m

To find:

wavelength = w = 2x = 28 m

Amplitude = A = Displacement from mean to extreme position = y/2 = 1.2 m

Time period for one cycle = T = t/c = 15/5 = 3 s/cycle

frequency = 1/T = 1/3 = 0.33 hertz

speed = wavelength/Period = w/T = 28/3 = 9.33 m/s

A beam of monochromatic light is aimed at a slit of width and forms a diffraction pattern. In which case is the width of the cen
AysviL [449]

When the incident light is yellow the width of the central band greater. Single-wavelength light sources are known as monochromatic lights, where mono stands for one and chroma for color. Monochromatic lights are defined as visible light that falls inside a specific range of wavelengths. It has a wavelength that falls within a constrained wavelength range.

A laser beam is the ideal illustration of monochromatic light. A monochromatic light beam produced by a single atomic transition with a particular single wavelength is what makes up a laser. A color scheme that consists solely of different shades of one color is referred to as monochromatic.

A textbook would hit the ground first

Factors:

-Textbook weighs most

-Pillow is flat and fluffy not very aerodynamic) also is very light

-Paper airplane will glide to the ground do to its wings and will hit the ground last

Do you remember this formula for the distance traveled while accelerated ?

Distance = (initial speed) x (t) plus (1/2) x (acceleration) x (t²)

I think this is exactly what we need for this problem.

initial speed = 20 m/s down
acceleration = 9.81 m/s² down
t = 3.0 seconds

Distance down = (20) x (3) plus (1/2) x (9.81) x (3)²

Distance = (60) plus (4.905) x (9)

Distance = (60) plus (44.145) = 104.145 meters

Choice D) is the closest one.
