We are given

Five added to one fourth q is the same as 4 more than q

Left side:

=5+\frac{1}{4}*q

Right side:

=4+q

now, we can set them equal

5+\frac{1}{4}*q =4+q

we can isolate q on anyone side

5 =4+q-\frac{q}{4}

5-4 =q-\frac{q}{4}

1 =\frac{3q}{4}

1 *4=3q

q =\frac{4}{3}...........Answer

A helicopter flying at an altitude of 600 ft dropped a package to a lifeboat. Use the formula t= - to find how many
Andre45 [30]

Answer:

6.1 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The correct question is</em></u>

A helicopter flying at an altitude of 600 ft dropped a package to a lifeboat. Use the formula t= √h/4 to find how many  seconds it takes for the package to reach the lifeboat. Round your answer to the nearest tenth of a second

we have

t= \frac{\sqrt{h}}{4}

substitute the value of h in the formula

h=600\ ft

t= \frac{\sqrt{600}}{4}=6.1\ sec

PLEASE HELP, GIVING 55 POINTS IF YOU ANSWER (08.03/08.05 MC) A pair of equations is shown below: y = 3x − 5 y = 6x − 8 Part A: E
Andrew [12]

Answer:

  A. (1, -2)

  B. the lines intersect at the solution point: (1, -2).

Step-by-step explanation:

A. The equations can be solve by substitution by using the y-expression provided by one of them to substitute for y in the other.

This gives ...

  3x -5 = 6x -8

Adding 8-3x to both sides, we get ...

  3 = 3x

Dividing both sides by 3 gives ...

  1 = x

Substituting this value into the first equation, we can find y:

  y = 3(1) -5 = -2

The solution is (x, y) = (1, -2).

__

B. The lines intersect at the solution point, the point that satisfies both equations simultaneously. That point is (1, -2).

Solve the equation to get the value y
tia_tia [17]

Answer:

y=11

x=-4

Step-by-step explanation:

y =-x+7

2x-5y=-7

insert the first equation into the second like so...

2x+5x-35=-7

Now rearrange...

2x+5x=-7+35

Now solve...

7x=-28

x=-4

Now incert x in any equation...

y=4+7

y=11
