In order to find the median the 1st thing I would do is put the number in order
80,84,87,88,88,90,90,95,98,100
then cross them out Start with left then go the right and so on...
until you get 1 number in the middle left (Since theirs 2 numbers in the middle add them up and divide by two ) 88+90=178 178/2=89
Median = 89

Now in Order to find the mean add up all the numbers and divide by however many numbers their are
You should get 900 then divide by 10 because their were 10 numbers

So Median=89 & Mean=90

Hello There!

The mean is the average of numbers in a set.

STEP 1: Add all the numbers in the set

STEP 2: Divide the sum by the number of digits you added

In this case, we will add all the numbers up so 90+88+88+87+84+95+90+80+98+100 = 900

Next, we will divide 900 by how many digits we added so we would divide 900 by 10 because there are 10 numbers in this set.

Finally, we will get a quotient of 90.

The Mean Of This Set of Numbers Is 90

The median is the middle number when all the numbers are in order from least to greatest.

STEP 1: Order the numbers from least to greatest

STEP 2: Cross out each number on the left and right until you get to the middle number

In this case, we would order the numbers from least to greatest so...

80,84,87,88,88,90,90,95,98,100

Next, we cross out one number on the left and one number on the right until we reach our 1 number in the middle unless there are two.

Finally, we come across two numbers in the middle which means that we need to find the mean of 88 and 90 so when we add them up, we get a sum of 178 and then we divide by 2 and get a quotient of 89

The Median Of This Set Is 89
