What is the ph of a 2.7 m solution of hclo4?

Chemistry

3 0
The compound HClO4 will dissociate into the ions, H+ and ClO4-. So, the 2.0 M solution will also form 2.0 M H+. The pH is calculated through the equation,
                                   pH = -log[H+]
Substituting,
                                    pH = -log[2] = -0.3
So the pH of the solution is going to be -0.3.

When the above equation is balanced the coefficients in order are
Softa [21]
The reaction is as follow,

                   Ca(OH)₂  +  Al₂(SO₄)₃    →     CaSO₄  +  Al(OH)₃

Ca are balance on both sides,

There are 2 Al at left side and one at right so, multiply Al(OH)₃ by 2 to balance,
So,
                   Ca(OH)₂  +  Al₂(SO₄)₃    →     CaSO₄  +  2 Al(OH)₃

Now, Ca and Al are balanced, now balance SO₄, which is 3 at left hand side and one at right hand side, so multiply CaSO₄ on right side by 3, so,

                   Ca(OH)₂  +  Al₂(SO₄)₃    →     3 CaSO₄  +  2 Al(OH)₃

Again Ca got imbalance, so multiply Ca(OH)₂ by 3 to balance Ca, So,

                   3 Ca(OH)₂  +  Al₂(SO₄)₃    →     3 CaSO₄  +  2 Al(OH)₃

The Equation is balance now with respect to every element.

Result:
          The Ratio is 3 : 1 : 3 : 2, so, Option-G is correct.

Why doesn’t the addition of an acid-base indicator affect the pH of the test solution?
elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]

The hydroxide ions keep decreasing and the hydrogen ions increase, pH decreases.

What is hydroxide?

Hydroxide is a diatomic anion with synthetic recipe OH⁻. It comprises of an oxygen and hydrogen particle kept intact by a solitary covalent bond, and conveys a negative electric charge. It is a significant yet generally minor constituent of water. It capabilities as a base, a ligand, a nucleophile, and an impetus. Hydroxide is a diatomic anion with chemical formula OH −. It consists of an oxygen and hydrogen atom held together by a single covalent bond, and carries a negative electric charge. It is an important but usually minor constituent of water. Hydroxide ions can act as a catalyst in different types of reactions. Hydroxide ions can function as base, ligand, nucleophile or a catalyst.
