Answer:

Naomi=x

Afful=2x

In 5 years time= +5

So Naomi=x+5

and and Afful=2x+5

=x+5+2x+5=34

=3x+10=34

Subtract 10 on both sides

3x=24

Divide 3 on both sides

X=8

Check:

X=8

Naomi=16

In 5 years

=16+5=21

Naomi=8+5=13

13+21=34

Hope this helps

Answer:

Afful is 21 and Naomi is 13.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let A represent the age of Afful and N represent the age of Naomi.

The sum of their ages is 34. In other words:

A+N=34

In 5 years time, Afful will be two times the age of Naomi <em>now</em>. In other words:

A+5=2N

Solve for the system. Substitute.

A+N=34\\A=34-N\\34-N+5=2N\\39=3N\\N=13\\\\A=34-N\\A=34-(13)\\A=21

Afful is currently 21 and Noami is currently 13.

Nick estimates that 50% of his income goes toward living expenses. Of the rest 50% goes to paying for his car and 25% of what is
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

Based on the amount that Nick is left with at the end of the month, the amount he earns is $2,400

<h3>What does Nick earn?</h3>

The amount of $300 that is left is 25% of 50% of Nick's income as the other 75% of the 50% went to paying for the car and other expenses.

25% of 50% is:

= 25% x 50%

= 12.5%

The amount Nick makes per month is:

= Amount remaining / Amount remaining in percentage terms

= 300 / 12.5%
= $2,400

A 600g packet of biscuits costs $2.40. Calculate How much would a 200g packet cost?
sp2606 [1]

Answer:

$0.8

Step-by-step explanation:

There is a relation of direct proportion between quantity of biscuit and its cost.

Let 200 g biscuit will cost $x.

Therefore,

\frac{600}{2.40}  =  \frac{200}{x} \\  \\ x =  \frac{2.40 \times 200}{600}   \\  \\ x = 0.4 \times 2 \\  \\ x = 0.8
