The best plan would be to begin swimming three days a week 15 minutes, aiming to complete 10 laps.

For anyone starting a new exercise/activity it is important to get your body accustomed to the activity at a steady pace otherwise you will overwork your body and cause harm. Also because it is an activity that you are not confident in doing you need to practice and see if is in fact something you enjoy doing.
