What is the molarity of a solution if 300.0 ml of it contains 16.8 g of kno3? [formula weight: kno3, 101.11 amu]?
AVprozaik [17]
The molarity is count by dividing the mole of the solute within 1 liter of solvent. In this case, the KNO3 is 16.8g with 101.11 g/mol molar mass. Then we need to find the mol first. The calculation would be: 16.8g / (101.11g/mol)= 0.0166 mol.

Then the molarity would be: 0.0166mol/ 0.3l= 0.0498= 0.0553 M

For the reaction KClO2⟶KCl+O2 KClO2⟶KCl+O2 assign oxidation numbers to each element on each side of the equation. K in KClO2:K i
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

Explanation:

The formula of the reaction:

            KClO₂ → KCl + O₂

To assign oxidation numbers, we have to obey some rules:

  1. Elements in an uncombined state or one whose atoms combine with one another to form molecules have an oxidation number of zero.
  2. The charge on simple ions signifies their oxidation number.
  3. The algebraic sum of all the oxidation number of all atoms in a neutral compound is zero. For radicals with charges, their oxidation number is the charge.

The oxidation number of K in KClO₂:

                                   K + (-1) + 2(-2) = 0

                                    K-5 = 0

                                    K = +5

The oxidation number of K in KCl:

                                K + (-1) = 0

                                K = +1

The oxidation number Cl in KClO₂ is -1

For Cl in KCl, the oxidation number is -1

For O in KClO₂, the oxidation number is (2 x -2) = -4

For O in O₂, the oxidation number is 0

K moves from an oxidation state of +5 to +1. This is a gain of electrons and K has undergone reduction. We then say K is reduced.

O moves from an oxidation state of -4 to 0. This is a loss of electrons and O has undergone oxidation. We say O is oxidized.

Which technology is used to deal with waste management?
Alisiya [41]
D) recycling ;)

Waste Management's Aerobic-Anaerobic Bioreactor* is designed to accelerate waste degradation by combining attributes of the aerobic and anaerobic bioreactors. The objective of the sequential aerobic-anaerobic treatment is to cause the rapid biodegradation of food and other easily degradable waste in the aerobic stage in order to reduce the production of organic acids in the anaerobic stage resulting in the earlier onset of methanogenesis. In this system the uppermost lift or layer of waste is aerated, while the lift immediately below it receives liquids. Landfill gas is extracted from each lift below the lift receiving liquids. Horizontal wells that are installed in each lift during landfill construction are used convey the air, liquids, and landfill gas. The principle advantage of the hybrid approach is that it combines the operational simplicity of the anaerobic process with the treatment efficiency of the aerobic process. Added benefits include an expanded potential for destruction of volatile organic compounds in the waste mass. (*US Patent 6,283,676 B1)
