ANSWERS:

13) d= 14
14) f= 18
15) s= -9
16) r= -24
17) y= 1/8
18) v= -3

SOLUTION:
13) multiply both sides by 2
14) multiply bothsides by 6 then divide both sides by 5
15) multiply both sides by 3 then divide both sides by 2
16) multiply both sides by 8 then divide both sides by -3
17) divide both sides by 4/5
18) divide both side by 1/4

Answer:

I dont know what you are supposed to answer with but I'll try to help you out. I take it that you have to find the letter ex. the letter <em>d</em> in 1/<em>2d</em> = 7. What you have to do is to get the <em>d</em> by itself and in order to do that you must move the 1/2 over to the 7. So what you would have to do is take the fraction that has the letter on it and move it to the whole number side or the side without the letter but without moving the <em>d</em><em>.</em><em> </em>The <em>d</em> stays on one side while the other numbers are on the other side. When you move the 1/2 over it should look like this sort of due to the limitations of only being able to use text: <em>d</em> = 7 ÷ 1/2. Now after that you have to divide 7 by 1/2 or .5 for question 13 in this instance. Your answer for 13 should be this: <em>d</em><em> </em><em>=</em><em> </em><em>4.5</em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em> </em><em>Make</em><em> </em><em>sure</em><em> </em><em>to</em><em> </em><em>show</em><em> </em><em>all</em><em> </em><em>your</em><em> </em><em>work</em><em> </em><em>just</em><em> </em><em>in</em><em> </em><em>case.</em>

13. <em>d</em> = 4.5

14. 18 = <em>f</em>

<em>1</em><em>5</em><em>.</em><em> </em><em>-</em><em>9</em><em> </em>=<em> </em><em>s</em>

<em>1</em><em>6</em><em>.</em><em> </em>-24 = <em>r</em>

17. 0.125 = <em>y</em>

18. -3 = <em>v</em>

Hope I could help as I am also a fellow 9th grader

Forty-two of the students in band own their instrument.
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

112 students

Step-by-step explanation:

Let T be the total number of students in the band.

From the question,

We were told that 37.5% of the total owns their individual instruments and this amount to 42 students

The total number of students can calculated for as follows:

37.5% x T = 42

37.5/100 x T = 42

Cross multiply to express in linear form

37.5 x T = 100 x 42

Divide both side by 37.5

T = (100 x 42) /37.5

T = 112

Therefore, there are 112 students in the band

Find the slope and make it into an equation Y=MX+B
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

Slope: 2

y = 2x + 50

Step-by-Step Solution:

Slope: rise/run = 40/20 = 4/2 = 2

y = mx + b

m= slope = 2

b= y-intercept = 50

y = 2x + 50

Solve for x: 9(x+1) = 25+X
Inessa [10]

Answer:

x=2

Step-by-step explanation:

9(x+1) = 25+x

<u>Distribute the 9:</u>

<u />

  9x+9=25+x

<u>Subtract x on both sides:</u>

<u />

  8x+9=25

<u>Subtract 9 on both sides:</u>

<u />

        8x=16

<u>Divide both sides by 8:</u>

          x=2

It is important that face masks used by firefighters be able to withstand high temperatures because firefighters commonly work i
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

(-\infty, 0.2661)

Step-by-step explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The population proportion have the following distribution

p \sim N(p,\sqrt{\frac{p(1-p)}{n}})

n=60 represent the sample size

X=12 represent the number of masks that had lenses pop out at 250°

\hat p =\frac{12}{60}=0.2 represent the estimated proportion of masks that  had lenses pop out at 250°

p represent the population proportion of masks that  had lenses pop out at 250°

Confidence =0.9 or 90%

\alpha=0.1 represent the significance level

Confidence interval

On this case we want a interval on this form : (-\infty,\hat p +z_{\alpha}\sqrt{\frac{\hat p (1-\hat p)}{n}})

So the critical value would be on this case z_{\alpha}=1.28 and we can use the following excel code to find it: "=NORM.INV(1-0.1,0,1)"

We found the lower limit like this:

0.2 +1.28\sqrt{\frac{0.2 (1-0.2)}{60}}=0.2661

And the interval would be: (-\infyt, 0.2661)

1/3(9−6m)+1/4(12m−8)
Sladkaya [172]
Hello there!

They are asking you to simplify it. So, let me help you out..

\frac{1}{3}(9-6m)+ \frac{1}{4}(12m-8)&#10;&#10;Use the distributive property &#10;&#10;
(1/3)(9) + (1/3)(-6m) + (1/4)(12m) + (1/4)(-8)
=3 - 2m + 3m - 2
= m + 1

Best of luck with your studies!
