Hello!

The teacher prepares 2.50 liters (L) of a salt solution for a class experiment. How many quarts (qt) are in 2.50 L ? (1 quart =0.943 liters)

Let's make a rule of three, we have:

quart (qt) _______ Liter (L)

1 ------------------------- 0.943

y  ------------------------ 2.50

\dfrac{1}{y} = \dfrac{0.943}{2.50}

multiply the means by the extremes

0.943*y = 1*2.50

0.943\:y = 2.50

y = \dfrac{2.50}{0.943}

\boxed{\boxed{y \approx 2.65}}\end{array}}\qquad\checkmark

Answer:

2.65 qt

Quarts are a measurement for liquids.
1 quart is equivalent to 0.943 litres
The volume of the solution is 2.50 L
Since 0.943 L = 1 quart
Then 2.50 L = 1 quart/0.943 L x 2.50 L
Volume = 2.65 quarts
Volume in quarts is 2.65 qt

group

2) Colour becomes darker.
E.g. Fluorine (pale yellow)
Chlorine (yellowish-green)
Bromine (reddish-brown)
Iodine (purplish-black)
Astatine (black)

3) The reactivity decreases down the group.

A sample of rubidium contains two different isotopes. 72.15% of the sample
Leona [35]

Answer:

Average atomic mass  = 85.557 amu.

Explanation:

Given data:

Percent abundance of Rb-85 = 72.15%

Percent abundance of Rb-87 = 27.85%

Average atomic mass = ?

Solution:

Average atomic mass = (abundance of 1st isotope × its atomic mass) +(abundance of 2nd isotope × its atomic mass)  / 100

Average atomic mass = (72.15×85)+(27.85×87) /100

Average atomic mass =  6132.75 + 2422.95 / 100

Average atomic mass = 8555.7 / 100

Average atomic mass  = 85.557 amu.
