Answer: 1. d) The number of people receiving a newspaper on a given day is 3 times what it was the previous day.

2.d) V(B) = 10B

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Since, given function, n(d)= 4\times 3^{d-1}Which is defined  the number of people who receive a newspaper on day d in a delivery schedule.

In first day d=1 so number of people, n(1)= 4\times 3^{1-1}=4

In Second day d=2 so number of people, n(2)= 4\times 3^{2-1}=3\times 4

In third day d=3 so number of people, n(3)= 4\times 3^{3-1}=3\times 12

In fourth day d=4 so number of people, n(4)= 4\times 3^{4-1}=3\times 36

Thus from the above explanation, we can say that everyday the number of newspaper are increasing by 3 times of the previous day.

Therefore, Option D) is correct.

2.Here,  The function V = Bh gives the volume of a cylinder whose base has an area of B square units and whose height is h units.

If h= 10

Then V= 10B

Therefore V is dependent on the value of B

Thus, Required volume, V(B)= 10B

So, Option D) is correct.

#1. a) Deliveries were made for 3 days.
It is a because the value in front of d is the number of days since d is days.
#2 d) V(B)=10B
It is d because V(B) means that you are plugging in the value of B times 10  to find the volume.

A man is on a diet and goes into a shop to buy some turkey slices. He is given 3 slices which together weigh 1/3 of a pound, but
Ghella [55]
The three slices are each approximately 1/9 pound in weight, and, since 2/9 is less than 1/4, he can eat 2 whole slices and be okay. If he wants to eat partial slices, then he could eat 2 1/4 slices, as each slice weighs 4/36 pounds, so 2 slices would equal 8/36 pounds, leaving 1/36 pound left over in his diet, which is a quarter of the third slice.

a movie theater has 24 screens. the ratio of action films to other films is 1:2 in the summer. how many action films are shown?
stiv31 [10]
12 action films are shown.
This is because if the ratio is 1:2, that means that exactly half of the total amount of movies are action. Thus, to evaluate this problem, you would find half of 24.
24 \div 2 = 12
