Answer: Fungi

Fungi is a group of organisms belonging to kingdom Fungi. These are eukaryotic organisms. They are saprophtic organisms, which means they drive their food and nourishment by decaying dead and decaying organisms. They cannot synthesize their own food by photosynthesis as they do not possess pigment chlorophyll like plants, which traps sunlight energy for photosynthesis. The cell wall of fungi is made up of chitin.

The organism feeding on the wooden log is fungus. They are able to degrade lignin component of the wood into simpler compound, which is used as a source of nourishment.

Answer: Fungi

Explanation:

The given observation states that the organism is Eukaryotic in nature they are neither archaea nor bacteria since they are prokaryotic organism.

They cannot perform photosynthesis so they are not plants. The presence of cell wall states that they are not animal as animals lack cell wall.

Hence, all the observations leads to the conclusion that the organism is fungi like protists as they have cell wall, canmot photosynthesize and are eukaryotes.

They feed on dead organism and absorbs nutrients from them to make it available in the soil. It feeds on the wooden log and degrades it by enzymes making it available in the soil.
