Can someone help me with the first 3 as it is my first time doing it ? <br> I need help
Fed [463]

You problem is you don't have any problem. You have a bunch of formulas for the perimeter and area of some shapes.

As for using the formulas, usually you're given all but one of the variables and you can solve for the remaining one.

Notice how the triangle result doesn't have area as a function of a, b and c. That's called Heron's formula and is usually not taught to secondary school students. I don't like to teach it either because Archimedes' Theorem is so much better:

The sides a,b,c and area S of a triangle satisfy

16S^2 = (a+b+c)(-a+b+c)(a-b+c)(a+b-c) = 4a^2b^2-(c^2-a^2-b^2)^2 = (a^2+b^2+c^2)^2 - 2(a^4+b^4+c^4)

Use elimination to solve this system of equations. 2r + 3s= 9 and 3r + 2s= 12
timama [110]
<span>2r + 3s= 9 <=> -6r -9s = -27;</span>
<span>3r + 2s= 12 <=> 6r + 4s = 24;
                    => 0*r -5*s = -3 => s = 3/5;

2*r + 3*(3/5) = 9<=> 10*r + 9 = 45 <=> 10*r = 36 => r = 18/5;

The cost of a package of ground beef (y) is directly proportional to its weight in ounces (x). A 14-ounce package costs $7. Writ
Sonja [21]

Answer:

y = \dfrac{1}{2}x

Step-by-step explanation:

The standard equation of direct variation is

y = kx

where k = constant of variation

We start with

y = kx

Since we are give one ordered pair, we use its coordinates for x and y, and we solve for k. We are told that when x = 14 ounces, y = $7.

7 = k * 14

k = 7/14

k = 1/2

Now that we know k = 1/2, we can write the direct variation equation:

y = \dfrac{1}{2}x

Jay has an album that holds 700 compact discs. Each page of the album holds 7 compact discs. If
igomit [66]

Answer:

44 pages

Step-by-step explanation:

If it can hold 700 disks, with each page holding 7 disks, that means there are 100 pages in the album.

Since 56% of the album is empty, that means 56 pages are empty.

If 56 pages are empty, we can find how many pages are full by subtracting this from 100

100 - 56

= 44

So, 44 pages are full with compact discs
