Acidity in human sweat is an example of<u> </u><u>innate immunity</u>

Explanation:

Sweat arising from human skin is acidic in nature with a pH ranging between 4.5 to 7.

As part of innate immunity, the skin acts both as a physical barrier and chemical shield.

As part of chemical shield, the skin’s sebaceous glands present on the skin produces an oily substance called sebum which contains free fatty acids. Further, hair follicles on skin releases lactic acid which bind with the amino acids of the proteins present on the keratinized layers of skin. The acidity of the sweat is due to the combined action of free fatty acids, lactic acid and the amino acids present on the skin.

This natural acidic nature of skin creates a hostile acidic environment to pathogens which prevents their entry into the body.

If the Independent Variable, then the Dependent Variable:

Your IV is how safe/supportive your design for your egg is

Your DV is what you believe/want the outcome to be after you drop the egg

So (an example could be):

If the structure of the apparatus that holds the egg is built of inflated balloons, then the egg will not crack when it is dropped.

Genes:
Assoli18 [71]

Answer:

B. They determine the structural and functional characteristics of each individual

Explanation:

Genes are present in all plants and in all prokaryotes, so answer choices A and E are incorrect. Genes are present in all living things.

Genes do determine the structural characteristics of each individual, but they also determine the functional characteristics.

Structure, which is controlled by genes, directly affects function. For example, a gene could code for a specific protein's structure, which will in turn give it a specific function.

So, the correct answer is B.
