Polar is the separation of electric charge leading to a molecule or its chemical groups having an electric dipole or multipole moment.

Non-polar is one in which the electrons are distributed more symmetrically and thus does not have an abundance of charges at the opposite sides.

This means that in a polar bond, the electronegativity of the atoms will be different. For nonpolar bonds the electronegativity of the atoms will be equal. In a polar bond you will have an unequal sharing of electron pairs which causes a molecular dipole. Bonds will cancel or not depending on the shape of the molecule.

Which of the four solutions is the best buffer against addition of acid or base?
Vera_Pavlovna [14]

b. Na2HPO4 + NaH2PO4.

A buffer is a solution of a weak acid and its conjugate base. The weak acid is H2PO4^(-) and its conjugate base is HPO4^(2-).

All the other options are incorrect because they consist of only a single component.

A fishing line sinker contains 0.650 moles of lead. How many atoms of lead are in the sinker? Show all of your work, including s
34kurt

Answer:

3.91x10²³ atoms of lead

Explanation:

In chemistry, a mole of a substance is defined as 6.022x10²³ particles that could be atoms, molecules, ions, etc.

As you can see, in the problem, you have 0.650moles of lead in a fishing line sinker, the present atoms are:

0.650mol Pb \frac{6.022x10^{23}atoms}{1mol} = 3.91x10²³ atoms of lead
