<em>A compound number is a number that has more than one factor. A prime number is a number that only has a factor 1, and itself. For example, 17 is a prime number because on 1×17 will give you that. 24 is compound or composite because many factors like 1 and 24 or 2 and 12 or 6 and 4 multiply together to get that number.</em>
So all you do is you divide 2 1/2 by .25 and you get 10 then you know one fourth or 25% of that package is 10 berries so the rest or 30% left over is 30 berries.
