I'll give you three just in case a couple are ones you aren't quite looking for.

-Carbon has several allotropes, or different forms in which it can exist. A couple of allotropes included are graphite and diamond, which both have very different properties.

-Despite carbon's ability to make 4 bonds and its presence in many compounds, it is highly nonreactive under normal conditions.

-Carbon exists in three main isotopes: ¹²C, ¹³C, and ¹⁴C in which ¹⁴C is radioactive and used in dating carbon-containing samples (known as radiometric dating)

Hope this helps!!

Write a method that could be used to produce pure crystals of copper chloride from copper oxide and hydrochloric acid.

- Describe how you would make the salt from the reactants.

CuO + 2 HCl → CuCl₂ + H₂O

- Describe how you would purify the salt from the reaction mixture.

Filter the solution and let the product crystallize.

Explanation:

The reaction between copper oxide (CuO) and hydrochloric acid (HCl) will produce copper chloride (CuCl₂) and water:

CuO + 2 HCl → CuCl₂ + H₂O

-Describe how you would make the salt from the reactants

In a beaker which contain cooper oxide add the hydrochloric acid. To avoid working with concentrated hydrochloric acid, the acid may be diluted with water but make sure the add the stoechiometric amount (and a little bit of excess) in respect with the copper oxide.

-Describe how you would purify the salt from the reaction mixture.

Let the reaction proceed and then filter the solution to remove the unreacted cooper oxide.

Let the filtered solution, which contain copper chloride, water and unreacted hydrochloric acid, to stand undisturbed for several days. You may see the crystals growing from the solution. To speed up the process you may reduce the temperature.

The reaction can be described using the equation: 2C2H25O24CO22H2O. How much C2H2is needed to react with 68.1 g of O2to produce
Sophie [7]

Answer:

22.13g

Explanation:

We'll begin by writing a balanced equation for the reaction. This is illustrated below:

2C2H2 + 5O2 —> 4CO2 + 2H2O

Next, we'll calculate the mass of C2H2 and O2 that reacted from the balanced equation. This is illustrated below:

Molar Mass of C2H2 = (12x2) + (2x1)

= 24 + 2 = 26g/mol

Mass of C2H2 that reacted from the balanced equation = 2 x 26 = 52g

Molar Mass of O2 = 16x2 = 32g/mol

Mass of O2 that reacted from the balanced equation = 5 x 32 = 160g

Now, we can obtain the mass of C2H2 that will react with 68.1g of O2 as follow:

From the balanced equation above,

52g of C2H2 reacted with 160g of O2.

Therefore, Xg of C2H2 will react with 68.1g of O2 i.e

Xg of C2H2 = (52x68.1)/160

Xg of C2H2 = 22.13g

Therefore, 22.13g of C2H2 is needed to react with 68.1g of O2
