I am a body builder , and metabolism is something we look forward to.
Making it faster = just eat healthy + junk + lots of them. work out more than you think is needed your metabolism should raise instantly.

What slows it down? = not working out not eating healthy and dieting , trying to loose weight . when you are on that chair instead of walking or running it is slowing your metabolism down.

i hope this helps you.

When someone tries to lose weight and he/she does a lot of exercise and eats healthy food, but that does not have results, the reason is slow metabolism. One of the most important things for good metabolism is to drink a lot of water (cold water is better for metabolism than warm). It is also important to have at least three meals during the day, and not to eat after dinner. It means that, if you eat after 18 or 19h, it will have bad effect on your metabolism and health. Good sleep is also important for metabolism: you should go to sleep around 22 or 23h. Stress is also one of the things which slows our metabolism...

A nerve impulse is a way nerve cells (neurons) communicate with one another. Nerve impulses are mostly electrical signals along the dendrites to produce a nerve impulse or action potential. The action potential is the result of ions moving in and out of the cell.
A nerve impulse travels from the dendritic end towards the axonal end. The chemicals released from the axonal end of one neuron cross the synapse and generate a similar electrical impulse in a dendrite of another neuron. A neuron transmits electrical impulses not only to another neuron but also to muscle and gland cells.
