If f(x) is the inverse of g(x), then f(g(x))=f(g(x))=x
or we can do it the hard way and solve for the inverses (I'm too lazy to do that)

I'm assuming you means g(x)=(x-4)/2

so
show that f(g(x))=g(f(x))=x
first do f(g(x))

f(g(x))=2((x-4)/2)+4
f(g(x))=x-4+4
f(g(x))=x

g(f(x))=(2x+4-4)/2
g(f(x))=(2x)/2
g(f(x))=x

both equal x and x=x so f(g(x))=f(g(x))=x

they are iinverses
if you did want to solve then
do, f(x)=y, then swtich all x and y then solve for x
example
f(x)=2x+4 then y=2x+4 then x=2y+4 then x-4=2y then (x-4)/2=y=g(x)
then reverse it to get the other inverse thing

PLZ HELP,ANSWER WHAT IS IN THE PICTURE
MrMuchimi

Answer: X'(-3, -2), Y'(-5, 1), and Z'(2, -3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Upon reflection across the x-axis, the x-coordinates remain the same while the signs of the y-coordinates flip. So, the coordinates will be X(3, -2), Y(5, 1), and Z(-2, -3).

Upon reflection across the y-axis, the signs of the x-coordinates will flip while the signs of the y-coordinates remain the same. So, the coordinates will be X′(-3, -2), Y′(-5, 1), and Z′(2, -3).

The pair of points is on the graph of an inverse variation. Find the missing value. (1.6, 6) and (8, y) 0.03 30 1.2 0.83
ZanzabumX [31]
One may note that (1.6 , 6) is just another way to say x = 1.6 when y = 6.

and that (8 , y) is another way to say x = 8 and y is who knows.

\bf \qquad \qquad \textit{inverse proportional variation}\\\\
\textit{\underline{y} varies inversely with \underline{x}}\qquad \qquad y=\cfrac{k}{x}\impliedby
\begin{array}{llll}
k=constant\ of\\
\qquad variation
\end{array}\\\\
-------------------------------

\bf \textit{we know that }
\begin{cases}
x=1.6\\
y=6
\end{cases}\implies 6=\cfrac{k}{1.6}\implies 6(1.6)=k\implies 9.6=k
\\\\\\
\qquad therefore\qquad \boxed{y=\cfrac{9.6}{x}}
\\\\\\
\textit{when x = 8, what is \underline{y}?}\qquad y=\cfrac{9.6}{8}

O COUNTING AND PROBABILITY
valina [46]

Answer:

a. Odds = \frac{3}{7}

b. Odds = \frac{7}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

n(Black) = 7

n(Grey) = 2

n(White) = 1

n(Total) = 10

Solving (a): Odds against winning

Since, the arrow must stop at black, then

The odds against winning is calculated as thus:

Odds = \frac{n(Total) - n(Black)}{n(Black)}

Odds = \frac{10 - 7}{7}

Odds = \frac{3}{7}

Solving (b): Odds in favor of winning

Since, the arrow must stop at black, then

The odds is calculated as thus:

Odds = \frac{n(Black)}{n(Total) - n(Black)}

Odds = \frac{7}{10 - 7}

Odds = \frac{7}{3}
