The city has applied for a government grant to build a new wastewater treatment facility. To qualify for the grant, the city mus

t prove it has accounted for all potential dangers to animal populations surrounding the plant. What environmental parameters should be monitored to ensure the plant is not adversely affecting the animal species living near the plant? (2 points) Land prices and the potential damage to the housing market in the area The soil composition of the land and the topography of the surrounding area The costs of utility and wastewater set up for the new wastewater plant Migrating bird populations and the carry capacities of local animal species

I'm not saying this is for sure but this is what I'm answering for mine thanks to a yahoo answers.  d) Migrating bird populations and the carry capacities of local animal species. You don't have to award points or anything I just wanted to try and help. This is what I put on another persons questions as well. I hope this is helpful and accurate. I'm sorry if it is not.

Answer:

Option D, Migrating bird populations and the carry capacities of local animal species

Explanation:

The government will provide grant only when the city will make efficient measures to cater the potential risk to the surrounding animals. With such norms, it becomes essential for the city to take suitable preservation steps. Therefore, the first effective measure to be taken by government is to determine the total strength of surrounding animals along with migrating species. Once the strength of the animals is known, subsequent preservation strategies could be formulated.

Hence, option D is correct.

Other than option D, none of the options indicate any measure that could help in preventing the surrounding animals.

What is a concentration gradient? (Make sure to include the words: solute, solvent, and solution.)
prisoha [69]

Answer:

Concentration gradient means difference in solute concentration among two regions of a solution.

Explanation:

When there is a difference in solute concentration in the two regions of a solution then the term concentration gradient is used .

Various membrane transport process such as passive transport(diffusion and osmosis),facilitate transport depends on concentration gradient of solute molecule in both sides of plasma membrane.

During passive and facilitate diffusion solute molecules are transported along their concentration gradient that means from high concentration region to the region of low concentration until equilibrium is being established.

I have 2 questions.
vesna_86 [32]
1. If ice is melting, energy is applied. We need energy whenever we need to change the state either from solid to liquid or from liquid to gas. The energy is used to break the molecular force between the water molecules of the ice so that they can be farther apart and become liquid state.

2. And at atomic level, the atoms are speeding up. Part of the energy is used to increase the kinetic energy of the ice particles, since the faster the particles are, the hotter an object will be. Therefore, since melting requires the ice to become a hotter substance, the particles are obviously moving faster.
