Answer:

B's acceleration is half that of A

Explanation:

The force equation is;

Force = mass × acceleration

According to Newton's second law of motion, which explains the relationship between acceleration and mass of an object, an inverse relationship exists between the mass and the acceleration. For the same amount of force, an increase in mass (m) means a constant decrease in acceleration (a) of the object. In other words, if the mass of an object increases by two times, the acceleration will decrease by two times.

In this case involving objects A and B which has the same amount of force applied, object B has TWICE the mass of A. Using Newton's second law, this means that object B's ACCELERATION WILL BE HALF OF THAT OF OBJECT A.

Acids give off H+ (Hydrogen) ions in water; bases give off OH- (Hydroxide) ions in water. Acids generally taste sour due to the sour H+ ion; bases taste bitter due to the OH- ion; but they may have other tastes depending on the other part of the molecule.

If a reaction releases 675,000 Joules, how many kcal does it release?
Mamont248 [21]

Answer: If a reaction releases 675,000 Joules then it means it releases 161.328872 kcal.

Explanation:

According to the standard conversion,

1 Joule = 0.000239006 kcal

Therefore, 675,000 Joules will be converted into kcal as follows.

1 Joule = 0.000239006 kcal\\675,000 J = 675000 J \times \frac{0.000239006 kcal}{1 J}\\= 161.328872 kcal

Thus, we can conclude that if a reaction releases 675,000 Joules then it means it releases 161.328872 kcal.

How many grams of nitroglycerin are needed to produce 25.0 grams of CO2
LekaFEV [45]
Nitroglycerin decomposes according to the following equation

4 C3H5N309  --->  12 CO2 +  10 H20  +  6 N2 +O2
The  moles  of  CO2 =  25 /44(molar  mass  of  CO2)=  0.568  moles

the mole ratio of C3H5N3O9 to CO2 IS 4:12 from equation above
therefore  the  moles  of  C3H5N3O9=( 0.568 x 4)/12= 0.189  moles
mass of C3H5N3O9=moles x molar mass of C3N5N3O9

That  is    0.189 mol x  227  g/mol=  42.903  grams

A geochemist in the field takes a 46.0 mL sample of water from a rock pool lined with crystals of a certain mineral compound X.
inysia [295]

Answer:

The solubility of the mineral compound X in the water sample is 0.0189 g/mL.

Explanation:

Step 1: Given data

The volume of water sample = 46.0 mL.

The weight of the mineral compound X after evaporation, drying, and washing = 0.87 g.

Step 2: Calculate the solubility of X in water

46.00 mL of water sample contains 0.87 g of the mineral compound X.

To calulate how many grams of the mineral compound 1.0 mL of water sample contains:

0.87 g/46.0 mL = 0.0189 g.

This means the solubility of the mineral compound X in the water sample is 0.0189 g/mL.
