Solutions:

Case a: Finding pH for [H⁺] = 1.75 × 10⁻⁵ mol/L :

As we know pH is given as,

                                  pH  = -log [H⁺]

Putting value,

                                  pH  = -log [1.75 x 10⁻⁵]

                                 pH =  4.75

Case b: Finding pH for [H⁺] = 6.50 × 10⁻¹⁰ mol/L :

As we know pH is given as,

                                  pH  = -log [H⁺]

Putting value,

                                  pH  = -log [6.50 × 10⁻¹⁰]

                                 pH =  9.18

Case c: Finding pH for [H⁺] = 1.0 × 10⁻⁴ mol/L :

As we know pH is given as,

                                  pH  = -log [H⁺]

Putting value,

                                  pH  = -log [1.0 × 10⁻⁴]

                                 pH =  4

Case d: Finding pH for [H⁺] = 1.50 × 10⁻⁵ mol/L :

As we know pH is given as,

                                  pH  = -log [H⁺]

Putting value,

                                  pH  = -log [1.50 × 10⁻⁵]

                                 pH =  4.82

Answer:

This is what I put, it hasn't been graded though...

Within the system, the energy is flowing from your hand to the ice cream cone. Energy is also flowing from the surroundings to the ice cream cone unless it's reeeeaally cold in the surroundings in which case why are you even holding an ice cream cone when it's that cold?

CH4 + 202 → CO2 + 2H2O
How many grams of O2 needed to produce 36 grams of H2O?
Pavel [41]

Answer:

Mass = 64 g

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of water produced = 36 g

Mass of oxygen needed = ?

Solution:

Chemical equation:

CH₄ + 2O₂       CO₂ + 2H₂O

Number of moles of water produced:

Number of moles = mass/molar mass

Number of moles = 36 g/ 18 g/mol

Number of moles = 2 mol

Now we will compare the moles of water and oxygen.

             H₂O       :          O₂

                2         :           2

Mass of oxygen:

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass =  2 mol × 32 g/mol

Mass = 64 g
