Answer:

22

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the bottom be y for the small triangle

So the total length of the bottom is 2y

We can use ratios to solve

x-1       1y

----- = --------

42          2y

Canceling the y's

x-1       1

----- = --------

42          2

Using cross products

2(x-1) = 42

Divide by 2

x-1 = 21

Add 1 to each side

x-1+1=21+1

x = 22

Find the perimeter of quadrilateral ABCD with vertices A=(1,1) B=(4,4) C=(7,1) D=(4,-2). Explain your answer.
Vanyuwa [196]

we have the coordinates of ABCD

there are 2 ways of doing this one is you find the distance of ab, bc, cd and da and then add the answers together. there is another way but i dont remember it properly so i am just gonna do it this way

distance between 2 point = \sqrt{(x_B-x_A)^2+(y_B-y_A)^2}

AB

d = \sqrt {(4 - 1)^2 + (4 - 1)^2}

d = \sqrt {(3)^2 + (3)^2}

d = \sqrt {9 + 9}

d = \sqrt 18

AB = 4.24

now repeat the same with all

BC= 4.24

CD= 4.24

DA= 4.24

so its a square with all the same sides so perimeter is 4 x 4.24

perimeter is 16.96

hope this helps

Fifteen percent of the cars in a parking lot are green. If there are 45 green cars, how many cars are there in the parking lot?
Olegator [25]
45/x =15/100
Cross multiply
15x=4500
Divide both sides by 15
X=300

Juanita usually spends $3 more than twice her transportation costs on groceries. if x is the amount she spends on transportation
ruslelena [56]

Answer: It's a linear equation.

It's not a proportional relationship.

Juanita spend $63 on groceries if she spent $30 on transportation.

Step-by-step explanation: Given equation y=2x+3.

Where x is the amount she spends on transportation, and y is the amount she spends on groceries.

We can see that given equation is in slope-intercept form y=mx+b.

So, it's a linear equation and y=2x+3 is the relationship between x and y linear.

Also, a linear linear equation represents a proportion relationship if y-intercept is 0.

But for the given equation y=2x+3, y-intercept is 3.

Therefore, it's not a proportional relationship.

Now, in order to find how much would Juanita spend on groceries if she spent $30 on transportation, we need to plug x= 30 in given equation.

Therefore,

y = 2(30) +3 = 60+3 = 63.

So, Juanita spend $63 on groceries if she spent $30 on transportation.
