First you want to cross multiply. 2x+5 * 18 = 36x+90 and x * 6 = 6x. so then you would have 6x = 36x+90. now you want to sinplify. subtract 36x from both sides and you get -30x = 90. divide by -30 to get x to stand alone. x = -3
