The edge of a flying disc with a radius of 0.13 m spins with a tangential speed of 3.3 m/s. The centripetal acceleration of the
Marat540 [252]

Answer:

Centripetal acceleration = 83.77m/s²

Explanation:

<u>Given the following data;</u>

Radius, r = 0.13m

Velocity, v = 3.3m/s

To find centripetal acceleration;

Centripetal acceleration is given by the formula;

Acceleration, a = \frac {v^{2}}{r}

Substituting into the equation, we have;

Centripetal \; acceleration, a = \frac {3.3^{2}}{0.13}

Centripetal \; acceleration, a = \frac {10.89}{0.13}

<em>Centripetal acceleration = 83.77m/s²</em>

<em>Therefore, the centripetal acceleration of the edge of the disc is 83.77 m/s². </em>

A cubic tank holds 1,000.0 kg of water. what are the the dimensions of the tank in meters? explain your reasoning
Scilla [17]

Given: A cubic tank holds 1,000.0 kg of water.

Mass of water in tank (m) = 1000.0 kg

Density of water (d) = 1000.0 kg /m³

Concept: Volume(V) = Mass / Density

Since the tank holds these water in it so the volume of water will be equal to the volume of the tank.

Hence, the volume of the tank = Mass of water / Density of water

or,                                         =  1000.0 kg / 1000.0 kg m⁻³

or,                                       = 1.0 m³

Since tank is cubical in shape. Let its side be 'x'

The volume of tank (x³) = 1.0 m³

or.          side of tank (x) = 1.0 m

Hence, the dimensions of the tank will be 1.0 m.
