<span>The object that was trying to be oxidized would end up being reduced. There would be no net reaction otherwise. The KCl would have simply melted after a long enough time and with the application of enough heat to the crucible.</span>

Answer : The mass of chemical species would remain the same. As potassium chloride does not contains oxygen in it.

The reaction that was supposed to be done would have turned to be opposite as reduction would occur instead of oxidation. Since, Potassium Chlorate is an oxidizing agent, and Potassium Chloride is a reducing agent, It is therefore assumed that if the student was trying to oxidize a particular species would undergo reduction instead.

The crucible when heated with potassium chloride in it would result in melting of the species.

The enthalpy of formation of xef2(g) is –108 kj mol–1 and the bond dissociation enthalpy of the f–f bond is 155 kj mol–1 . what
S_A_V [24]
Xe +f2 →Xef2
ΔXe = ΣB.P reactants - Σ B.d products
-108k.s/ mol = B. D f₂ - 2 B.D xe-f
-108 k.s/mol =155 k.s/mol - 2B.Dxe-f
263kJ/mol/2 = B. D xe-f
B.D xef = 131.5 kJ/mol
132 kJ/mol

What is the osmotic pressure of a solution made from 22.3 g of methanol (MM = 32.04 g/mol) that was added to water to make 321 m
xxMikexx [17]

Answer: The osmotic pressure of a solution is 53.05 atm

Explanation:

To calculate the concentration of solute, we use the equation for osmotic pressure, which is:

\pi=iMRT

Or,

\pi=i\times \frac{\text{Mass of solute}\times 1000}{\text{Molar mass of solute}\times \text{Volume of solution (in mL)}}\times RT

where,

\pi = osmotic pressure of the solution = ?

i = Van't hoff factor = 1 (for non-electrolytes)

Mass of solute (methanol) = 22.3 g

Volume of solution = 321 mL

R = Gas constant = 0.0821\text{ L.atm }mol^{-1}K^{-1}

T = temperature of the solution = 25^oC=[273+25]=298K

Putting values in above equation, we get:

\pi=1\times \frac{22.3\times 1000}{32.04\times 321}\times 0.0821\text{ L.atm }mol^{-1}K^{-1}\times 298K

\pi=53.05atm

Hence, the osmotic pressure of a solution is 53.05 atm

Liquid water and water vapor reach equilibrium only in a closed container. Why?
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]
Because water vapor, uncontained, will diffuse out into the atmosphere and is not close enough to condense back into the liquid water, so no equilib. can be established.
