Hi,

- 0.4  + 1.5(3.1) \\  - 0.4 + 1.5 \times 3.1 \\  - 0.4 + 4.65  = 4.25

Hope this helps.

Helppp!! I NEED HELP PLEASE
Elodia [21]

Given:

The table of values for the function f(x).

To find:

The values f^{-1}(f(3.14)) and f(f(-7)).

Solution:

From the given table, it is clear that the function f(x) is defined as:

f(x)=\{(-14,11),(-7,-12),(-12,-5),(9,1),(10,-2),(-2,13)\}

We know that if (a,b) is in the function f(x), then (b,a) must be in the function f^{-1}(x). So, the inverse function is defined as:

f^{-1}(x)=\{(11,-14),(-12,-7),(-5,-12),(1,9),(-2,10),(13,-2)\}

And,

f^{-1}(f(a))=f^{1}(b)

f^{-1}(f(a))=a              ...(i)

Using (i), we get

f^{-1}(f(3.14))=3.14

Now,

f(f(-7))=f(-12)

f(f(-7))=5

Therefore, the required values are f^{-1}(f(3.14))=3.14 and f(f(-7))=5.

It x, y, and z are positive intergers and 3x = 4y = 7z, then the least possible value of x + y + z is???
Dmitry [639]

3x = 4y = 7z \\ \Rightarrow \begin{cases}3x - 4y = 0 \\4y - 7z = 0 \\ 7z - 3x = 0\end{cases} \\ \Leftrightarrow \begin{cases}x =  \frac{4}{3} y\\4y - 7z = 0 \\ 7z - 3( \frac{4}{3}y)  = 0\end{cases}  \\ \Leftrightarrow \begin{cases}x =  \frac{4}{3} y\\4y - 7z = 0 \\ 7z - 4y= 0\end{cases} \\ \Leftrightarrow \begin{cases}x =  \frac{4}{3} y\\ y \\ z =  \frac{4}{7}y \end{cases} \\ x,y,z\: are\: intergers\Rightarrow y=LCM(3,7)=21\Rightarrow x = 28,z = 12 \\ \Rightarrow x + y + z = 61

How is a one-degree angle helpful classifying angles?
faltersainse [42]
It can give you a pretty good idea of how many degrees everything is. for example if something was 13degrees, you would be able to make an estimate because you know how much one degree is.
